Drew: blackjack schools
I live in Oklahoma City, and I am looking for a hands on blackjack school. Are there any in the region that can be done in a week's or less time?

Best School there is, is right here.
Buy Blackjack for Blood, or Professional Blackjack, or Blackjack as a Living. Available right here from this site.
Back these up with Blackjack Attack, and maybe some counting drill software. Also available here.
Consider the cost of the books your school tuition.
Spend the week reading these books and flipping thru a deck of cards.
Consider this your classroom time.
Post any questions here, and several 'instructors' will give you individual attention.

Probably the only good blackjack school was Ken Uston's school, which was taught by Ken and his team mates. Jerry Paterson's was good until he started recommending TARGET. In addition to the books that SOTSOG recommends, I recommend the following software:
BJ678 www.stickysoft.com
Casino Verite www.qfit.com
Good cards!

Of course, you could always take your chances with some washed-up crossroader from Oklahoma. On the other hand, if you read the books and talk to people from here, you are sure to get a quality education from some of the best and brightest (and most current) minds in Blackjack.
Maybe even get a few friends together with a deck of cards and have a Blackjack Night at your house. This will give you good "casino" practice (complete with drinks and distractions) for free. Once you get the hang of it, you will find that computer software is a HUGE practicing advantage.
Why bother learning from a "local pro" when you can learn from so many recognized players and authors?

Go to the frequently asked questions section on this page to get a good idea of books and software. Anything from Qfit is of high quality. You should go to www.qfit.com, Norm has an excellent calculator to assist you in determining which system best fits your aspirations and abilities. Hope this helps.

What about Andrew Scott's school in Melbourne, Australia?
