happycounter: A couple questions about dealer errors

I go to a casino where they use a lot of break in dealers who make a lot of errors for and against the player. My questions are
1 if you were flat betting and playing perfect basic could you overcome the house edge if the dealer consistently made errors in your favor? (meaning you pointed them out when the dealer took your push ect. and only took advantage of the ones that benefited you)

2 if you would have an advantage how many times per hundred hands would the dealer have to make a mistake. The game is 6D split aces 1X, DAS, SP up to 3 hands total and dealer stands on all 17.

If the dealer pays one push per 100 hands, that adds 1% to starting advantage, so that's enough to put you in the black right there. One payout on a loss per 100 adds 2%. One payout on a lost double per 100 adds 4%. Go from there.

Would strongly suggest you not post the name of the casino on an open board.

    suicyco maniac: Sleepy dealers

I played with a sleepy dealer a few months back that I honestly thought would fall over. He was so tired that his eyes would sometimes close for 5 -6 seconds at a time and his body would sway back and forth also his head would just about fall off like when you are so tired you start to nod off. Unfortunatly I was only able to play with him about 15 minutes before the relief dealers entered the pit and even though the hands were dealt extremely slow (perhaps 50-60 an hour and this dealer put the cut at about 50% pen) I was still able to get a good game all because of the 2 mispays I received (I guess this worked out to eight an hour) I wish I could have gone on busting his ass all night long but like they say all good things must come to an end :-( ............I couldn't believe the casino could be so careless as to let a dealer in this state slip past their grip but like so maany others have stated never overestimate the smarts of a floorman.

A few years ago, a dealer kept insisting the player to my left wave her off. He kept saying "WHY?" and "LOOK AT IT!!" The hand was 9-3-T. He had busted. Dealer was 1000% SURE he'd hit to 20 or 21, I guess.

Dealer calls over pit boss. Pit boss agrees with the dealer. Her nose was 10 inches from the busted hand, but she looked straight into the mans eyes. "You have to wave it off, sir." Man, almost crying, yells "LOOK AT IT!!!" I just wanted the game to move along, so finally I joined in the chorus. As one, we screamed "LOOK AT THE CARDS!!!!!" No dice. "The rules say you have to wave it off, sir." Finally, in desparation, he waved it off. Dealer payed him in turn, never dreaming there was a possibility SHE made a boo-boo. Man said "I don't want this. I don't deserve it." He was ignored.

For all intents and purposes, they CRAMED THAT MONEY UP HIS REAR END. Funniest thing I ever saw.

well only one hand paid wronge to get an edge seems a little low but hey what do i know
going to take a shot at it
some of the dealers are trained on the game so really have no clue what there doing
i watched one make 7 errors all in favor of the players in one 40 min session only thing i could hope for was if they worked 90 min instead of 40 min sessions lol.

I saw the very same thing quite a while back both I and two other players had table limit bets out dealer had a three up nine in the hole and hit with a ten. All of a sudden the floorman runs over probably just noticing our big bets and watches the dealer go into pay the table mode. I couldn't believe my eyes. I quickly grabed my chips and got the hell out of there before anyone figured out what happened. NEVER OVERESTIMATE A FLOORMAN!!!!!!!

Believe it. If I made such a basic mistake, there are two dozen people who read these posts daily, who would gleefully pounce!

Now, I'm assuming you're playing decent basic strategy. One paid push per 100 isn't going to give you a BIG edge -- perhaps +0.3%. Two paid pushes gives you +1.3%. Still not great ... you will have many losing sessions ... but your average card counter would kill for this. Finally, there is no "downside variance" to this play, assuming you catch all errors in favor of the house.
