    Flying Low: Don's Betting Cover?

Re: Betting cover from BJA Chapter 7 - Team Play p.106 #5-8.

Assume using the above cover with KO Preferred spreading 1-5 at a SD game in Reno with red or green chip play. Would it be advised to use this cover with KO as described?

This type of betting was conceived with the shoe game in mind, and would not work well in a single deck game.

In a shoe game, once the count goes positive, it is likely to stay positive for several rounds, giving you a chance to employ this strategy.

This is not true with the single deck game, where the count may often veer wildly from highly positive to very negative from one round to the next.

Furthermore, there are a limited number of rounds between shuffles, with the best counts often coming in the last round before the shuffle. If you only raise your bet after a win, you will miss out on many opportunities.

There are enough casinos in Reno that the best strategy is simply to keep your session short, and move on to the next casino.
