Everything new is old. Virtualization goes back at least 40 years. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VM_(operating_system)). In fact the Wiki article has it wrong as I used VM on System/360s prior to that. Still use a VM today, unfortunately. CV will not compile under Win7. I run a WinXP virtual machine under Win7. It's a completely separate OS, even gets WinXP updates. This isn't like another version of Windows on a dual-boot system. One OS runs under the other OS, so you access WinXP in a window under Win7.

That's not really adjustable as the thread window and current post are designed to be both visible at the same time.
They do have that ability. But, very few people bother with titles when posting in non-threaded format as they aren't needed.
Sorry, you'll have to discuss MMT elsewhere.

Good god. Even as a new jack, I can recall the shift in terminology from "web based" to "SaaS" to the newly anointed "Cloud". You gotta admit, "Cloud" is an easier sell than "SaaS", especially to idiot account execs with cocaine and French vodka addictions.
I'm pro-upgrade. If there's a chance of any data loss, that needs to be addressed before a change. Otherwise go for it. The more we change, the less we're stagnant.
