    Alexxx: international money transfer

When overseas trip, bringing out money is always a big problem if the country has strict currency control.
Is it a good idea to use international money transfer service such as "Western Union" or "MoneyGram"?
Is it possible to send money to myself by those money transfer company?

It's possible, certainly, but very expensive as I recall.

    Thanks for your reply.
When I send my money to myself, are there any rule?
How much is the maximum amount of money I can send?

the rules and the maximum depend on the country, but if you split it into several transactions at different offices you may send more. I think the worst disadvantage is that it is very expensive, about 5% of the amount is comission, and if it is not the same currency the exchange rate is an additional robbery. you loose about 8% at Western Union if you send to a country with another currency (5% commission and 3% at exchange).
Better may be some illegal or semi-legal methods, but in any case you need a confident local person that helps you.
