    Mikeh: Paris

I will be in Paris next weekend.

Anyone able to give a general guide as to the conditions I might encounter? Happy to be told of any gems that exist, but Im more interested in whether I should bother with BJ at all (e.g. is it wall-to-wall CSMs?).

    Thanks very much in advance.

    MikeH: Nobody?

Does anyone know anything at all about Paris?

    You know....capital of France....big tower....lots of palaces.

Im being cheeky, but if someone can give me an overview or whether its worth searching or if I should just relax with a glass of wine that would be most appreciated. Trackjack doesnt have a section for France, so maybe its a blackjack wasteland.

    Thanks again

I know a little bit about it! :-) There are no casinos in Paris. The closest one is in Enghien, a nearby suburb.

There are more casinos in the south of France, and, of course, in Monte Carlo. Maybe you'll get to go there, too.

    Francis Salmon: And Enghien?

I would consider Enghien being part of Paris (14km from the Champs-Elys?es).The problem with Enghien is that it's usually overcrowded but it's one of the rare casinos in France that open already in the afternoon (4 pm).

And the info(one year old )about this is, that they first open a csm table. The same in Deauville.
South france, you will experience extreme heat, and Monte Carlo cashier telephone the pit boss, how much you change. I would say, good luck

    Francis Salmon: CSMs in France??

Can somebody confirm this information about CSMs in Enghien and Deauville?
I must admit I haven't been there for years (actually I'm barred in both places!)but I always thought that the present French legislation which is as detailed as to give shuffle instructions to the dealer doesn't allow machines.

You can call them and ask. Not this unusual, before entering a casino.

I have long given up calling casinos for details about the game. The person you get on the phone is usually not qualified to answer this type of questions. All they can tell you are opening hours and which games they offer.
It's not that I don't trust your word but in the roughly 50 casinos in France I have visited I never came across a CSM.
I have heard that they tested machines in Deauville but the fact that they have been effectively introduced is new to me.That's why I would like to have confirmation.

Not exactly. Actually four of them have been introduced lately. It looks like this guy (Lucien Barriere), doesn?t have enough with the standard Euro-trash and/or restrictive rules. He seems to be delighted, pushing the envelope a little further. Sad. :-(

I heared it is D9, no surrender. And maximums soso. Isn't it unnecesary to bar counters anyway with those conditions?
I myself do relatively good by phoning the casino. It is not perfect, but it helps more than a lot of players posting here. Of course there are a few that give good answers, but most info here is useless.

I remember reading Oktopus Ken's report about intorduction of CSMs in France. Though I don't remember which French casinos were the first ones to start using them.
