Hole Carding- How to do it?

Another basic question from me, if hole carding basically finding a dealer who inadvertantly shows his hole card when taking it from the shoe and moving it to its position? How hard is it to find one and do you need to sit at third base to make it work? Thanks,

u are going to get no responses most likely this stuff isn't usually talk about in the open .... shoes are pretty well protected from hole card play......

in all sincerity this stuff shouldn't be talked about in the open....but what i will say if you look hard enough for anything and i mean anything... you will find it but it usually comes down to how hard your willing to work....

Sit at third or first base and lay your chin on the table and squint when the dealer deals his cards.

This is the worst kind of amatuer behavior. I highly recommend reading this post by JG.

How to hole card in easy 5 steps:
    1. Spend a lot of time scouting every shift of every casino
    2. Practice spotting cards until you know for sure what card you saw. You need to be sensitive enough to whether you actually saw the card clear enough or you just guessed correctly.
    3. Develop.the strategies to take advantage of the info. You will need to figure out what to do with partial info. That 7 could look like a 6 or an 8.
    4. Go out to the casino and be just as overwhelmed as your first time counting.
    5. Profit!

Some cards look alike, depending on whether you're reading the pips or the letters. Some mistakes generally don't matter too much (8 vs 9) but others can be total disasters (4 vs A, 2 vs A, different paints) depending on the game you're playing. So figure out the weak points of your target game and work on these the most.

I hope that no one puts up detailed descriptions of flashing situations (although a few have appeared in print). But any description that anyone might write would inform you of only a tiny fraction of the situations that can arise. Human beings have an unlimited capacity to screw things up in creative ways. The best advice I can give anyone is, when you're in the casino, keep your eyes open, and keep an open mind, at all times. Everything else will follow.

(A couple of things already said here are wrong.)
