    Classification by compilation

In michael Kaplan’s interview on Colin Jones’ Podcast this week, Anthony Curtis talks about new books that are coming out from Grosjean and others in the future that have revelatory information. He uses Ian Andersen as an example of “why did you give away your ‘secrets’ by writing Turning the Tables and then Burning the Tables?” and Ian responded that he has a “third book”, implying some new tactics or strategy.

Which led me to think about this principle in the handling of classified information whereby you can compile non-classified information in such a way that it would become classified for security purposes

In Burning the Tables, Ian says he utilized BJ Attack to develop out the camo plays such as always taking even money, etc etc. The Blackjack Life is filled with quotes by the great authors and references to their seminal works.

I’ve read most of the books published on blackjack that are available to purchase. Some of them I have read multiple times and I obviously glean something new each time.

To get to the point of this thread, do you guys think the new tactics and strategies are there in the published literature waiting to be “compiled” by the next Chang or Hyland; or are these guys coming up with novel approaches that defy the currently published information currently available?

It is unlikely that there is going to be much innovation in a field which most AP's who think creatively moved on from decades ago.

The people that remain in this field depend on each other for endorsements and approval for the audience that exists, so it wouldn't generally be commercially viable to publish anything ground-breaking. If you say "I have a method which makes card counting obsolete" you piss off everyone who is making money selling books/products about card counting, and it is very difficult to get past that.

There is a vast audience for people who thought "Bringing Down The House" was a documentary. It is just easier to market to those people that the tiny minority of people dependent on AP for their actual living.
