Hey everyone! I’m working on improving my blackjack strategy and was wondering if anyone knows of any tips or tools to help keep a side count, specifically one that tracks the number of rounds played. Any suggestions on how to manage this effectively would be greatly appreciated!
There are more useful side counts than keeping track of rounds played. It's best to use a specific card like A, 7 or 9, or a block of cards like 789, it's also best to count with specific numbers. For example on top of a 6-deck shoe there are 24 aces, then 23, 22, etc. If you can't keep track with specific numbers, it's just a matter of practice time before it becomes natural. Option B is to rely on mental imagery and associate each number to a mental image, like an athlete jersey number, for example. Use whatever image means something to you and pratice until it becomes instantaneous. You can also use letters if it feels more natural.Originally Posted by LT Isaac
If you are playing single deck, foot position could work. If you are playing double deck or more then use the alpha bet to keep track of rounds. (A =1 , Z =26) If you have more than 26 rounds start over and add 26 to the total.

Perhaps simply stack chips to represent the count. For example, having a special stack of 6 chips means you just finished Round 6. Also, so the stack doesn't get too high, after a while you can form 2 stacks, and then 3 when needed. For example, Round 27 can be represented by stack one having 2 chips and stack two (just to the right of stack one) having 7 chips.
