Spring is in the air, or is it?
Yesterday I saw my first robin of 2025. Today I got the ice up from my walks for the second time this year. And just a couple of days ago I saw a deer in my back yard. However when the deer tried to walk across the snow in my back yard he sank up to his belly in the snow.

If you think winter is over for us think again. Here is the latest.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING TO 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ TUESDAY...

WHAT...Heavy snow and areas of blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 9 inches, highest from Painesdale southwards in the Keweenaw and the interior areas of Ontonagon and northwest Gogebic counties. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will create areas of blowing snow.

WHERE...Gogebic, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, Ontonagon, and Southern Houghton Counties.

WHEN...From 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening to 11 AM EDT /10 AM CDT/ Tuesday.

Anyway, the real good news for today is I made a new high gaming online for the year.

Yesterday was the warmest day we had this year. Temps reached into the mid sixties. Today it is snowing again. Must have received about an inch so far today.

Yep, we still have about a 3 ft deep snow pile from shoveling the roof, and about 14 inches on the ground where the sun doesn't shine. Spring clean up guy is supposed to come the middle of May. Hope the snow is gone by then.

Hey, this looks like 21forme. The U. P. of MI has some of the best ATV trails in the country. However, going out with an ATV before May 15th is just asking for trouble.

Going, going, gone! Yep, it finally happened on 5/9/25. All the snow in my yard has melted.

Here are the last 6 years results.
Year 2025 -- Snow Melted 5/09/25-- Snowfall 315.25 Inches
Year 2024 -- Snow Melted 4/18/24-- Snowfall 153.25 Inches
Year 2023 -- Snow Melted 5/10/23-- Snowfall 275.75 Inches
Year 2022 -- Snow Melted 5/11/22-- Snowfall 325.60 Inches
Year 2021 -- Snow Melted 4/16/21-- Snowfall 188.40 Inches
Year 2020 -- Snow Melted 5/16/20-- Snowfall 280.10 Inches

The leaves are still not on the trees, but in a few days they will be along with the bugs.

It's Snowing!

The old folks would always say if you get a thunder storm before the leaves are on the trees we are in for more snow. Well, we got a thunder storm about a week ago before the leaves were on the trees, but now the leaves are on the trees so it shouldn't be snowing. Really no accumulation so far but nice big snow flakes.

Anyway, this maybe the latest I seen it snow in the spring. Temps in the higher elevations are coming in at 33 degrees at 2:00 pm.
