Newbie, play Heads up or 2 more players. What's better.

I just started playing seriously, I notice playing heads up it seems harder and faster. Suggestion please. The Hollywood Casino in West Va. does NOT have early surrender so that's a disadvantage.
Where can I find the rules of that casino, please.

I prefer heads up.
Question to clarify - No ES period or just ES10. If no ES10, is Late surrender offered against ace or any other dealer upcard. If no LS, then no surrender at all.

As for rules, ask the dealer.

When you are just starting out, playing heads-up, or even worse, first base with other players, seems like it goes too fast; put a few people between you and the dealer. When you get more confident, you can sit wherever you want. Side bets slow it down even more. The other day I was at first base with a fast dealer and 3 other players, and for some reason none of them was playing the side bets; I really had to scramble. (Whatever you do, don’t say, “Slow down, I can’t count that fast.” )

Last time I went, the game was terrible. 8 decks, H17, over 2 decks cut off.

It worked on Sp21 games in some AC casinos, especially those with only 1 or 2 tables. Dealers weren't familiar with Surr nuances as they didn't have it on regular BJ. I'd often announce "surrender" immediately before they checked the HC. Worked about 1/3 of the time, and the other dealers just instructed me that I had to wait until they checked.

Play with more players and slower dealers until you're up to speed. I still sometimes skip the top 10% of super-fast dealers because I like to take my eyes off the table as much as possible and engage in conversation. I can still keep up with it with a really fast dealer if I want to but my other efforts to blend in won't work as well.
