Our book has been delivered to HP

Good news! Dave's and my new book was delivered to Huntington Press today from the printer. I would assume that means that orders should begin to be filled as soon as possible. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Don - I saw in the description that this book talks about SCORE, but does it examine EV changes specifically for each deviation?

Also curious if it by chance speaks at all to EV lost by each individual BS move (e.g. how much EV do you forfeit for standing on a 16 vs a dealer 7). I have been looking for such data in a tabular format.

The book does not deal with the contribution of indices in terms of EV. As you have noted, each index play is ranked according to its contribution to SCORE.

    However ...

We are currently working with the publisher, Huntington Press, to make available a downloadable companion to the book which consists of graphs showing the EV of every action for every holding across a reasonable range of true counts. There will be one set of graphs for each of the 9 rule sets covered in the book. I think this may be more along the lines of what you are looking for.

I use a level 2 count. Is there any information in here that can be applied to counts other than hi-lo? Thanks in advance for any response.

If this initial offering goes well, we expect to do more counting systems in the future.

    CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!

From what I've seen and the numbers I've read (some are in the advertisements), the tables in this book are fascinating and critical to modifying how advantage players should rank their choice of play decisions. I've already changed my thinking in a couple areas, and the concepts can generally apply to other counts.

    Definitely Nifty!

    Ole

Let’s fix to HiLo. To consider the EV contribution ranking, we must fix the bet spread, such as 1-2-4-8-12-16 at different TC levels, which gives a certain ranking. In your book, what bet spread do you use to rank these indices?

Furthermore, if the bet spreads are different, deviation indices might be different too. So, what is your explanation in this book?

A bit confused by this. Why would deviations change according to bet spread? I would think they are independent of each other. Sure, different counts would call for different bets, but not sure how that would have anything to do with indice deviations. I.E For my system I double 9 vs 7 at >= 7. I would think that play is static regardless if betting 1 unit or a thousand units.

I’d guess if your bet spread is 1 to 1000, then you should hit 9 vs 7, but I’ve never calculated this one.

I was just giving an example. You're on a different level than me. I just don't understand how a indice deviation would change accoding to bet spread. Over my head I guess.
