Thread: Am I part of the club now?

What true count are you putting out a max bet?

Your logs look like you haven't had many big wins or losses. I remember a number of shoes where the TC goes to 4 early and I couldn't win a hand. Even with a $100 max bet , a single hand can grow to a $800 bet, when you have splits and double after splits, and single 6 deck shoes can swing +/- $2k .

I estimate hands played in addition to hours in my log, as it can vary from 60 to 200 hands an hour depending on conditions.

My max bet of $100 starts at a true 4 count. So if we do make it to +16 with 4 decks left, I'd have $100 out.

I’ve been losing money all the way in blackjack. These casinos are built on my money and Norm has banned me several times. Nevertheless, I consider myself part of the club. However, if I hit once, I’ll get everything back. I’ve never kept any records though.

Quick snapshot, now I am at $7,325 in 73 hours of play. I already have 9,524 casino tier points, and it just takes 15,000 to get all the free vacations (12 nights in vegas, 1 bahamas trip, 1 carribean cruise trip).

I have not bet over $100 since I was (somewhat accurately) called a 'gambler'. Yes, I listened.

Tonight, even though I made over $400...I started out having (3) different $100 bets where I had a 2 card 20....on two of them, the dealer pulled a multiple card 21....and on the 3rd, the dealer pushed me at 20. I was down about $400 but rebounded and ended the night up $400+.

This streak has been...crazy. Out of my 24 trips to the casino this year, I only have 4 losing days and 20 winning days. I understand the math...this is...not normal. It is just my current reality. I am prepared for it to not continue at this pace

You need to remember this and put it somewhere handy. Because, when it turns--and rest assured it will--you'll be writing to tell us about your brutal losing streak and wondering how you can lose 20 out of 24 trips.

It just turned for me over the last couple days. Another good couple of promotions, and this time won over $7,000 instead of losing for a change.

Anyway, today was shovel the roof day. I really didn't get to play any blackjack yet today, but probably will play some tonight. I just noticed I have another positive table game promotion in my email.

2023.jpgQuick update. $9,600 up for the year. This is all uncharted territory for me. Can I believe that I went 4 years breaking even, then decided to even try for a 5th year? I am not sure. What a grueling 4 years.

The $9,400 is just a snapshot of a fleeting moment, I realize that. I made it though. I never really put a goal past $9,000. I just wanted to get to where I was almost sure I could play the rest of my life on my earnings and never have to go back into my actual pockets. Maybe I am at that point, maybe not quite there. Either way, after 4 years, it is just cool to see the math actually work. This was a fun journey. I am satisfied, no matter what direction it goes from here. Also, looking forward to earning 24 free nights in Vegas once I get past 15,000 tier points here in about a month. I'm currently at just under 12,000 tier points. You get (3) free nights a quarter in Vegas at the next card level and it starts the moment you get the 15,000 tier points, lasts through not just the year you earned it but also the following year.

I'll play a couple times a week only once I get to that level. Time to lose 15 lbs and go back to a regular life soon!

Good job on the winnings. If you are spreading a solid winning game, I would NOT be using a players card earning points at any of the big corporate casinos. Otherwise, you will find your AP career expiring about as fast as a gallon of milk.

    Thanks!

It is too late for me at my local place. Been using my card for the last 4 years and into this year. (Yes, it is very much a big corporate place, with many locations in Vegas and throughout USA) The day they tell me I am done, I am done. I don't think I am close to that, considering we have a regular here that loses in (1) day what I made so far in my career. He has lost $1 million over the last 3 years. I have watched him lose $10,000 in one setting.

I feel like he is my scapegoat, although I do feel bad for the guy.

Also, still a red chipper. I will always have to be a red chipper locally too. I'll have to travel the day I move up in spread. If I ever move up...I am good with making small amounts and enjoying the social aspect. I can always be good with that.
