    77 vs 10

Hi, I am using cvbj and the tables for Hi-Lo I18 F4 when using 6 decks, enhc, s17. These show surrender a pair of 7s against a dealer 10 on all counts, but to surrender 14 against a dealer 10 on a TC of 3. Could someone explain the reason why you would surrender 77 but not another 14 on a TC < 3? I cant find any reference to this decision in Professional Blackjack and am struggling to wrap my head around the play.

If this is true, then cvbj is wrong. Most books have pairs of 7's v 10 and 14 v 10 the same index, or almost the same index.

Yes, I have attached the surrender table from CVBJ for Basic Hi-Lo with S17 and EHNC options selected.

I have looked at other strategies and options, and it appears that this is pulling through from the basic strategy chart in CVBJ, which shows a surrender 77 vs 10 with the default options set but does not show surrender 14 vs 10.

I don't know what the problem is, but the index for 7,7 should be one less than for hard 14, so +2, to surrender. Obviously, it ISN'T BS to surrender 14 vs. 10, unless we're talking about EARLY surrender, which doesn't seem to be the case.

The table displayed is single deck basic strategy, so no indices. The table was created in 1993 from Snyder's BS. Likely to have been changed since then.

ok, so how do I get cvbj to use the up-to-date strategy table. I have set decks to 6 in the game and this is the table that is displayed for both Complete Basic Strategy and Hi-Lo. Is there an update that I need to apply?

    Hi,

New here and no clue where to post my question. I have a winning streak that keeps on going. the basic strategy , just using bet variation.

I’ve played offline and online in those ‘live casino’s’ kept statistics to check how my balance moves.

For me it’s unexplainable… anyone an idea ?

Create a user strategy based on the included strategy and modify it. Are you playing a single deck surrender game?

Its a multi deck with surrender, ENHC, S18, DAS. I'm trying to replicate what I am most likely to find in London based casinos.

There is something really strange doing on with my install. I have copied the hi-lo strategy to define my own, and none of the modification tables show surrender 77 vs 10, yet when I save the strategy and view the tables, surrender 77 against 10 is red.

I downloaded the trial version, then purchased a licence key to activate it. Could this be the issue?

You were looking at single deck basic strategy, not HiLo.

Its the same with Hi Lo. I added the screenshots to an earlier post. The basic strategy was added as the Surrender 77 was also applying to the basic strategy chart. My game is set to multi deck (6). cvbj hi-lo surrender table.jpg
