    Differences between BJA and CVBJ strategy tables

    Having mastered basic strategy over the last few months, I have noticed a few small differences between the BJA Basic Strategy chart that I memorised vs the tables generated in CVBJ. Does anyone have a view on which is correct and whether the differences are significant?

    1) BJA shows hit 16v10 whereas CVBJ shows hit on 2 card 16 vs stand on >=3 card 16;
    2) BJA doubles on S18 vs 2, whereas CVBJ stands;
    3) BJA hits on S17 vs 2, whereas CVBJ doubles;
    4) BJA hits on S13 and S14 vs 4 whereas CVBJ doubles;
    5) BJA shows hit 8 vs 5 or 6 whereas CVBJ doubles;

    These are for a H17 game with DAS.

    Looks like you are comparing BJA shoes vs. CVBJ single deck. Change the number of decks in CVBJ and the strategy will change.

    Could you guide me on how to change the number of decks that apply to the strategy tables. I have found how to change on the drills themselves, but not for when viewing the tables from the Strategies screen.

    In the game, go to Options-Settings-Basic Rules.

    This is set to four. Do you know why the strategy tables will be showing for a single deck game?

    Change it to 1 deck and you will see.

    I have set the decks to 1 in the game and rechecked the tables. They are showing the same as before, e.g. S18 vs 2 still showing as Stand rather than Double.

    Do you have Compete Basic Strategy or Composite Basic Strategy selected?

    I have also checked all three, complete bs, composite bs and bja. All three show the stand S18 vs 2

    If you don't have full indexes set when you select the strategy, it will substitute basic strategy for indexes not selected. For example, if you have Illustrious 18 selected, it will substitute basic strategy for all hands not in the Illustrious 18 using the basic strategy for the selected decks and rules. The correct strategy for those rules is stand.

    I see, I did not select any indexes and had assumed that the BJA basic strategy chart was correct - S18 doubles against 2-6, stands against 7 & 8 and hits against 9-A. What yould you recommend as a good basic strategy chart to learn to cover the most common sets of rules.
