Poll: Do You Have a Bet on the Super Bowl

I just saw on TV that 50.4 million Americans are betting or going to bet on the Super Bowl. It is up 61% from last year. Anyway, I have my free $20 bet on the Chiefs on the money line. I will probably make a couple more bets on the game as I have to bet at least a $100 to get a free bet the following month.

Yep, I made a futures bet on the Eagles at start of the playoffs and got 5-1. I think I even posted about this bet on a different thread. I spread this bet out across 3 different sportsbooks because wanted to add deposit bonuses to my wager. I am on the fence about cashing one of my bets out early as a hedge. The only issue is that my bet already has equity and they aren't offering me my full equity for early cashout so probably gonna just roll the dice and hope for the best.

With 5 to 1 already on the Eagles, and probably around +105 for the chiefs on the money line, you surely can lock in a certain amount before the game is even played. Let's just make the Chiefs even money. Suppose you had bet $100 on Philly at 5 to 1. You can now bet $300 on KC. Either way, whichever team wins, you're holding $600 at the end. Since you bet $400, you've won $200 before the game is even played.

    Something to think about.

Thanks, Don! A little disappointed I didn't think of this myself. I got stuck in tunnel vision thinking my only option was to cash some of it out early.

having a futures bet reach a final at much longer odds than it currently is in the last game is a great way to lock in a certain return, if you're risk-averse and don't want to see the original bet to the conclusion. Note that it doesn't have to be my way, which locks in a certain return regardless of who wins. You can still shade the hedge such that you win more than $200 if the Eagles win and less than the $200 if they don't. Just play with the numbers.

    Super Bowl results.
I had 7 different bets on the Super Bowl. I bet $100 of my own money on three different bets. I split them up between the teams. The other bets were free bets. The biggest bet was $57 on the coin toss which I lost. I earned it by playing a promotion. Bottom line $100 of my own money and ended up with $147.

Bet $300 on Bengal to win it all at start of last year's suberbowl to pay $5100..got greedy, and drunk, but wsould've, obviously, bet Rams late to win when down 10

Fyi, rams went off 2-1...didnt like it, so planned to live bet them....and had it right there, too late...oh, well

Thanks to Don chiming in and helping me realize I can just hedge a little by betting chiefs moneyline rather than take an early cashout, I shouldn't complain, since I did profit a little while giving myself a chance at good payout.

I think next season is the Bengals time to shine. I will probably place a little on Cincy superbowl futures.
