Winter returns again to the U.P. This would be our second snowfall for 2022-2023 winter. The old timers would say the first two will probably melt. It is the third one that stays.

Damn, this snow is going to be the death of me yet. Just got back in after an hour of shoveling. Last year I could go for about an hour and a half before getting real tired. This year I'm pooped out only after an hour of shoveling. Fortunately, the real heavy snow bands have missed us so far, but we do have about 18 to 20 inches on the ground now. The far western U.P. got hit pretty hard with around 3 feet of snow near Ironwood from what I hear. Well, time to crank up the heat and play some online blackjack for the rest of the day.

Not much snow so far this year except for a week in the middle of Nov. They are predicting 26 inches of snow for us between now and Christmas Eve. Glad I don't have to travel anywhere this year for Christmas.

The weatherman predicted 2 inches of snow over the last couple days. We must of received close to 14 inches instead. Now they are predicting up to 35 inches of snow between now and Christmas and over 50 mph winds. We will see what happens.

I spent about 2 hours outside shoveling, but a half hour of that time was spend sitting in my second car running it to charge up the battery. The car wouldn't start about a week ago and had to jump start it. I left it go too long without running it. Now I been sitting in it about twice a week running it for awhile to charge the battery.

We are all set for Christmas. Not going anywhere. We are just sitting back and waiting for the storm of a generation to hit. Just hoping the electricity doesn't go out, then we would be up shit's creek. I have several online casino promotions lined up so between them and shoveling all set thru Christmas.

So far anyway not the storm of once in a generation. However right now is probably the worst it has been. Check out these web cams this evening.

    Saturday Morning 12/24/22:
Did anybody check out the above park view web cam. How would you like to have that snow pile on your roof? This morning the wind was blowing so hard it actually blew open the bedroom door a few inches. Can't figure out how that happened. The best I can figure is the wind must of came thru the bathroom fan. Electricity still on.

Oh by the way, yesterday I spent about three hours on snow removal, and running the car. The car just barely started.

This morning I found a snow drift that was up to the hood of my car, but I have seen snow drifts as high as my chest in the past. The storm is not a once in a generation event as they claimed it would be. However we must of got about 40 inches of snow in the past week.

Blizzard warning now extended 12 more hours. The power is starting to go out. The winds have actually increased over the last few hours. I have no generator or wood heat. The only thing I can do is freeze in the dark if our power goes out.
