And if he has any sense, he'll move somewhere with reasonable weather.

A 6-12 inch winter storm is coming for late this weekend. Still don't have a snow plower lined up for this winter. Last year I paid $875 for snow plowing. This year the new guy wants $1,350 for the winter. Heck, that is over a 54% increase. Maybe I will get out my Ego snow blower out and do it myself.

With all the big bucks you're making in online casinos, splurge. Or move south.

I don't think there will be any big bucks this year from online casino play, but I have been thinking about splurging. The guy I'm looking at for snow plowing said he can do all my snow needs if I pay more. I do my path and porch myself now. Heck, I won't have to go out at all except to bring out the garbage. I can crank up the heat in front of my computer and sit around in my underwear all winter long.

They are now predicting up to 18 inches of snow starting today. I refuse to shovel this early in the winter.

On October 17, 2022 some areas of the U.P. received up to 18 inches of snow. Areas close to the big lake received none while just a few miles inland they got hammered.

On the morning of Oct 18th I sent the wife out to shovel. The porch was slippery and I didn't want to fall bringing out the garbage. It also marked the first time for this winter that I had to put rubbers on so I won't slip. Why does this always happen on garbage day.

Looking at weather trends, the UP may be one of the few habitable areas of the US in a decade. Seward's Folly looks less and less like a folly.

Surprised you say that Norm. 150 hands (or years with reliable weather tracking) doesn't make for an accurate sim.

21forme this is why I don't leave for a winter vacation. I don't want to come back to this, and have to call this guy. By the way, many years ago we went to see family in Green Bay over Thanksgiving and came back to a 3 foot high snow bank blocking my driveway. After a 4 hour drive and being very tired, I had to get out the old yooper scooper and open up the driveway so I could get the car off the road.

Who says you have to come back? You're too old to deal with that kind of weather, so load up the truck and move (to Beverly?) Millions of seniors do it.

What! Leave my beloved U.P. No way.

When Putin decides to hit the east coast with a few nukes, just remember as you bend over with your head between your legs to kiss your ass goodbye the good ol' U.P. I can hear you muttering, only if I lived in the U.P.
