BJ Dealer Rules applied by Players

I assume it'd been done but i've never seen much said about this. since the dealer (house) has the advantage w/o basic strategy or AP by following the rules laid out by the house, mostly hit or stay on soft 17, hit 16 and below, no doubling, splitting, even money, or insurance ... could a player blindly follow the same rules? or as i am writing this I am thinking that maybe it would statistically it would be push over the long haul and who wants that, or does the house still have an edge?

This strategy's called mimic the dealer, you will be playing at around 5.5% disadvantage versus 0.4% when playing basic strategy. That's because you lose at lot when you don't double or split your hand
    Chance favors the prepared mind

since i wrote the post I was thinking about the fact the player doesn't wait to see if the dealer bust if the player busts (in other words no push when the player and dealer both bust)

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
