    The Dlamatoam Burnout

    Hi,

My Mynname is dalmatian and I hit a massive burnout. I live in Atlanta and I lost all of Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. I know there's more to the country but now I need to fly places and rent cars, all driving up my expenses. It sucks. After counting for a year at the 2x500/2×600 max bet levels, I'm totally wiped out and just done with this.

Any advice for dealing with massive burnout and long distance travel just to continue the nalckjack dream?

    Thansk,

    Dalamrian

    Norm,

I have no other way to make 200k a year is the problem. In fact, working 2 full time jobs 100 hours a weeknis barely 100k. I can't go back to that. And I'm too ADHD to go to school.

I agree with your disagreement. I've heard several retired high-stakes pros say that anyone who has the talent, drive, and determination to make significant amounts of money over an extended period of time at blackjack has what it takes to make as much or more with far less aggravation in any number of other pursuits.

Why do you have to make $200,000 a year? Most folks don't make that kind of money. Be happy with $70,000 and enjoy life.

It's called unrealistic expectations and knowing your limitations.

What happened? What would you differently?

I played anonymously at many places that I was backed off. No problem so far. Maybe it was because my wins were too small for these casinos to notice.

It sounds more like a blackjack nightmare than a blackjack dream.

What do you mean by "burnout?" Loss of motivation to play blackjack, but your life is going well in other ways (e.g., getting along with others, money management, chemical use, mental health, etc.)

What do you mean by "I lost all of...." Do you mean you are no longer welcome to play in those states?

What was your mental health like before you were introduced to gambling or blackjack? I ask because if you have a history of mental health issues, nothing external to you will ameliorate those issues. "It's an inside job." Even if you won the lottery and had 2.6 million dollars, you would still be ill at ease.

If on the other hand your troubles began only when you started gambling, you may have an easier time of getting healthier.

Either way, I would suggest a break from all gambling and high risk activity for, say, 30 days. And visiting with a mental health professional can make all the difference.

Perhaps through pain, the "Universe" or whatnot is signaling to you to change your life around. I believe that's what happened to me. Metaphorically, my hand was on the stove burner, and, because the perceived benefit of continuing on as I had been suddenly seemed less than the pain I was experiencing, I changed, but I had help.

As they say, "nothing changes unless something changes."
