Hello all, I am a newbie from europe

    Hello all,

firstly I learned english at school so please dont blame me for mistakes I might make.

I am glad that I discovered this fantastic forum as it is a great source of informations about blackjack and card counting and some of you guys are probably famous players.

I have never done card counting but I am sure I can learn it even though it takes a lot of practice. Advantage play is nothing new for me as I am familiar with online advantage play but that doesnt work anymore. So I consider giving it a try in b&m casinos.

However, I am from europe and I am not sure if card counting is still possible in europe. In my homeland it is impossible as there are few casinos and all of them use CSMs and the rules are poor.
So I would have to travel to other european countries. That would be fine with me as I like travelling anyway. But I am not sure if there are still european countries in which it is worth the effort and the costs. And flying to Las Vegas would be an option but that would be expensive and stressful and I would rather avoid that.

I would appreciate it if I could get advice. Thank you in advance.

First, your English is excellent. The pun of your handle is very clever!

Second, if you do come to the US, Las Vegas is probably the worst place to count cards, but would be worth seeing as a tourist.

Ty for the compliments. I am not aware of a pun but ty anyway, smile.
Yes my english is pretty good as I travel a lot and talk to people in english very often.

I was in Las Vegas some years ago and then I didnt know how to count cards so I just played blackjack and some other table games normally without an edge and I lost pretty much. I loved a bj variant called freebet blackjack. This one is fun as you can make free bets but I have read meanwhile that the house edge is big and even if you count cards it is not beatable. But the trip was fun anyway as I had never been there before and I enjoyed a lot of things like the shows of magicians.

Ok and Las Vegas is not a good place for card counters. But there probably other good places in the US, right? Which ones are good? Maybe Atlantic City?

Ty for the link. Very helpful information there.

But are you serious about North Cyprus? The part of Cyprus that belongs to the Turkey? I have heard the casinos there are sometimes not paying winners.

There are 20 casinos there. You don't have to worry about winning up to $5,000. In major casinos up to $20,000

Ty for warning me. I dont think I want to go to North Cyprus as it does not seem to be the best place. There must be better places in europe. But probably the experts do not want to talk about that in an open forum for obvious reasons. That would be reasonable of course. Are there players on this board who are willing to share infos? Then please send a PM to me. I am travelling a lot and I am planning to go on a trip to some countries in eastern europe soon. So I can check out the casinos there and share the infos. I think many european casinos are useless but maybe I can discover some good ones.

I've never travelled to Europe to play BJ, but I have done a lot of European travel, and if I happen to see a casino and have some free time, I'll stop in to check out conditions. I've never found a good game. A few examples:
Small casino inside Schipol - CSM.
Casino across from the Opera House in Vienna - all CSM, but got 35 euro in free play to sign up for a player's card.
Casino in Budapest (along the Danube, near the chain bridge) - one table non-CSM, but they cut off 2.5 decks from a 6D shoe.
Casino in Varna, Bulgaria - very limited hours for table games. Were closed when I stopped in.

    Hi,

I played Slovenia & Croatia last summer. Slovenia was mostly CSM with a few 8D games but very rare.

Croatia had more shoe games, but very paranoid. I spread big table min to table max, that's probably why. They half shoe you immediately. So I went on road trip through Croatia and Slovenia. All casinos. Win 300 euros spreading 1x10-2×100. 17 hours. Total expenses 200 euros.

I think Northern Cyprus is good for AP but not blackjack. They very intolerant of counting. In europe it os very much dead I'm very sorry. Some shoe games here and there, but travel expenses kill you amd make it not logically

Some of the Eastern European countries do not allow banning. That doesn't mean you don't have to go to court to reverse a ban.
