    N0 When Backcounting

When I use CVCX to sim play with backcounting, is the N0 the number of rounds where betting occurs or do the rounds where I am observing negative TC but not betting count toward the N0?

Say for instance I sim a strategy where I sit at a table and if the TC goes -1 or further, I leave and don't return to that shoe. Do all the remaining rounds in that shoe contribute to the N0 in the simulation?

    Number of rounds actually played.

So then does win/hr calculate based on a fraction of the RPH played?

If I have RPH set at 100, is the win/hr based on 100 rounds played per hour or some fraction of 100?

RPH and WPH are according to rounds actually played. This is because CVCX doesn't know the amount of time you will be sitting out rounds as this depends on variables like how many tables are available. So, you adjust RPH depending on your experience in a particular casino at a particular time of day.

Since when does CVCX base wonging stats on rounds actually played? This used to be based upon rounds dealt per hour. That was the default but the user could switch it to rounds played. I believe that was for CVCX V4.

Why do you say CVCX doesn't know the amount of time you will be sitting out rounds? The amount of time spent sitting out rounds is based upon the % of rounds played (which the sim calculates) and the departure adjustment set by the user.

Okay, my post above refers to when estimation techniques is selected in the Betting Box. All the stats for this are based upon rounds dealt. See attachment.

I guess when you simulate a wonging strategy, the stats on the results screen are based upon rounds played? Why not just be consistent with this and do the same for both?

Sorry, I don't know what you mean. When you leave a table, CVCX cannot know how long it will take you to find another table. That's why you can set the rounds/hour yourself.

CVCX has a departure adjustment setting where the user can specify the number of rounds it takes to find another table when wonging out of a shoe. The user inputs this value presim.

When you simulate wonging, there are far more options.

The results of my backcounting sim show 50% of rounds played. If there are 70 rounds dealt per hour at the casino, that would mean I would play 35 rounds per hour. Does that mean I should set RPH to 35? You said that RPH is based upon rounds played so this seems like the logical thing to do.

Just to clarify, the N0 in the results screen is based upon rounds actually played?

Rounds played should include time looking for a new table, which depends on the casino, dealers, time of day, etc. That's why it isn't set automatically. You need to estimate the rounds played per hour based on the situation and experience.

No is based on rounds played.

In the sim I used the Find Table delay feature. But there seems to be a contradiction between what you are saying and the CVCX help screen. You are saying all the stats on the results screen are based upon rounds played. On the other hand, CVCX says the following--"Hands per Hour ? Number of rounds observed at the table. If you are back-counting, this includes skipped rounds." Which is it?

Actually, depends on whether you are using the old method of setting backcounting after the sim, or the new way of setting pre-sim. Have a meeting in 11 minutes and will respond later.
