Hard to believe they don't just use real rngs instead of prngs these days. Both Intel and AMD chips contain such.

This article is talking nonsense. In this gambling business, you don’t need that level of programming skills to beat a casino. All you need is a good collaborator who understands you and each other.

Yeah I stopped research into this area years ago because I concluded no one would be dumb enough to create a crackable prng. Just seed the damn thing more often if you can't write better code.

Intel chips since 2012 and AMD since 2015 have included hardware trngs. Intel's are based on thermal noise -- but that's a very simplistic description. Not crackable.

For some time, the prngs in slots run continuously instead of generating one number when needed. That requires an excellent prng unless you reseed often.

I can’t understand what picture has formed in your head after reading this article ... It is rightly said that if you put an iPhone in monkey hands, it will start hammering nails.

p.s. I was on that ship that attacked the pirate schooner...

Mickey is banned here and some other forums for past behavior. I hear he has cleaned up his act since his medical problems a few years back. Ignoring his past life; yes he is clearly a top expert on these machines. As for his twitter feed, it is mostly political, conspiracy nonsense and I have removed the link.

I have been a full-time AP (mostly card counting) for the last six years, making upper-five figures to lower-six figures per year. Still finding plenty of beatable games and still enjoying the grind. Not getting rich, but paying my family's bills and saving a little. The scheduling freedom seals the deal.

Vaccaro picked up the phone in a Las Vegas sports bar and complained to a Southern interlocutor, "They're arguing with people who've been doing this all their lives, you hear?"
And this is not a fairy tale...

@drunk there was loophole in the UK where people could exploit free bets from bookies using betfair exchange to convert the free bets into guaranteed profits. Then there was also another loophole to exploit uk casino offers where people only played the offers when there was a +EV. A few of us made a killing between 2008 -2014 and then unfortunately word got out, everyone jumped on the bandwagon and it became saturated beyond belief and no longer worth the effort.

The latest craze seems to be youtube streamers playing live games/slots in the vegas casinos. People subscribe to their channels and send money using superchat for a mention. Although in my opinion, I'd say the casinos are funding the players since every game they stream has a negative expectation and the youtube memberships wouldn't cover their losses. However, they always seem to play the right machine, at the right time, continually winning big jackpots. Surely it has to be a marketing ploy by the casinos to entice people to come in ?
