So when the progressive jackpot rises enough ($619,800) that the side bet is overall neutral EV, the EV at any given time fluctuates wildly by ace density. Using the sims and calculations for the distributions of point counts, this says that with good ace tracking, with 2 decks to go in a 6 deck shoe, 1/4th of the time the side bet will be -10% EV or lower, and 1/4 of the time the side bet will be +65% EV or higher.
I looked at one other jackpot level, $150,000. 95% of the time, the EV ranges from -10% to -25%, and would rarely be positive with perfect ace side counting.
