    Does This Make Sense

    Assume an online blackjack promotion with house edge of about .5%. The requirement is to deposit $1,000 of your own money, and then you will get another $1,000 match from the casino. You get to keep the $1,000 match and any winnings only after you do the play-thru requirement of $100,000. On $100,000 play you should lose about $500 so you would still make $500 on this promotion.

    However, lets assume you have bad luck in the beginning and at half way thru you lose both your $1,000 deposit and the $1,000 match. Should you quit at this point or make another deposit of your own money since the promotion was positive value in hopes of winning your money back to at least break even?

    Not sure if this is correct but wouldnt the expected loss be $5000?

    If you need to play through 100,000 if I understood correctly then depending on your bet size to reach that amount you would need

    4000 25$ Hands -> 25x4000x-0.05 = -5000$ taking 40 hours at 100Hph
    1000 100$ Hands -> 100x1000x-0.05 = -5000$ in 10 hours at 100Hph

    Edit: missed a zero. It IS 500.

    Wouldn´t the next 1000 buy-in need an additional 100,000$ play thru after that deposit is done? So there is no "halfway". If not, what would stop you from buying in for thousands when you are close to completing the first 100,000.

    I can't figure the math, but if my assumptions are correct, you'd deposit more and keep playing. First, my assumption is, they are matching you $1,000 but they are totally fine if you deposit more or even much more than $1,000. The more you deposit the more you can lose to them.

    So back to your scenario, you deposit $1,000 and let's say you only play through 60K and lose the first $1,000. At that point, continuing to play is like the original proposition, except now where you sit, you only need to play through 40K rather than 100K.

    All I can say is there’s a better promo out there than this one. Keep looking…
