CVData - Export over 200 million hands into CSV file

    Hi,

I wonder if anyone has experience with exporting entire simulation data (200M hand) out of CVData into a CSV file?

I am working on some blackjack sidebet. I want to figure out if there is correlation between some side bet and my true count. I have done similar natural of work in Minitab, but I am having a hard time exporting data from CVData into Minitab.

The best thing I did right now is to export handlog from CVData 100K hands at a time. My simulation is 200million hands. This means I will spend hours and hours getting all the data into minitab. Just wondering if anyone has done similar things and how did you get by?

    Any input is appreciated.

    Doghand is your man.

Suggest you name the side bet, all of the payout structures etc. What you’re asking for may have already been done. I can think of at least 3 side bets that I will play with true count correlations.

    Raybabyray,

The hand log in CVData contains only 100,000 hands, regardless of the number of rounds in your simulation. If you want to get 200 million hands, you'll have to do 2000 sims... ouch! One mitigating factor is that you can start a sim, then quickly abort it, and still get the 100,000 hand log.

However, wouldn't it be easier simply to use CVData to sim the sidebet using your count system? For a primer on how to use CVData to sim a sidebet, see my two-part "Primer" post on page 3 of this thread:

Otherwise, post the sidebet payable and I (or others) will give it a whirl.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Dog,

There are 2 reasons for me to want to do it in excel and minitab: 1. For some reason I can only get my first bonus paid out from CVData. I asked Norm, and still waiting for response. 2. In excel, I can re-exam the hands and calculate the results, and make sure my number matches the ones from CVData.

I think this is just my DD responsibility for any unproven AP game.

In the end, I have been struggling between sharing info, which helps people, and expose AP opportunities which hurts people who might want hold the information unpublished.

Can I email you this sidebet and payout and the my idea? I manually verified 100K hands in excel last night and I think there is a good correlation. If we spread the bet a little, it could be either profitable or a very confusing cover bet.

The only side bets I can think of are Lucky Ladies and King’s Bounty. What is the third one?

A couple of other side bets are countable too, such as Lucky Lucky and Over/Under 13, but these are not correlated to HiLo. Also, I haven’t seen them in casinos. For a high roller like you, these probably were neglected by you?

I am especially interested in the Match-the-dealer in Spanish 21, but it has been proved by many that it is beatable. I guess this is life.

Correlating to true count can also mean negative true count - I didn’t specify - it could be either positive or negative true count or both. Let’s just say it becomes profitable at extremes. By the way, math is involved on all side counts.

Dog hand did the analysis some years ago.

    @Dog hand
Thanks, I’ve made a few dollars off of it, and it has provided cover to a degree. Please note that I don’t use the best count to exploit - with everything else I do, I do think my head would explode - I do correlate activity on this side bet to Halves count. I fully understand that it’s not as efficient as a specialized count, but it’s suitable.
