Seeking Suggestions for How We Can Show Our Appreciation for this Forum's Experts

I have benefitted greatly from the wisdom of the experts on this Forum. Blackjack veterans like Norm (hosting this Forum and also his input), Don, Dog Hand, etc. have asked for no monetary compensation while their sage advice has likely saved me, or will end up saving me, thousands of dollars. I am sure I am not alone.

I am soliciting ideas regarding how we can 'give back' to these mentors who have given so freely of their time and labor. Financial renumeration? Promises to 'pay it forward' by doing our best to improve others' quality of life?

    What are your thoughts?

Consider it the gift of giving with the expectation and hope of payback on your part. Everyone started somewhere.

Logged in to make a profound statement about these great men. I don't have the words. Just "Thanks" is just not enough.

    Why not?
Just got back home from a nice lemonade at Starbucks with a visiting out of town AP. Ive met him a few times. Originally referred to me from someone I trust, a nice fellow. I had no expectation of payment.

From both perspectives, networking opportunities that lead to solid info exchanges.

Perhaps take bigplayer and LVbear to lunch at a Mexican restaurant with a nice view.

It may sound strange, but I want to temper my original post in the name of human weakness. That is, Blackjack, of course, can be tricky in terms of its allure.

If an endeavor has a self-exclusion option, you know you are playing with fire. Think about it: Many of us know those who realize they have lost control over their gambling AND hopefully have enough strength to admit weakness in this regard and ask a higher authority (in this case, casinos) to not permit their action anymore.

I have worked in the field of addiction, and I have a lot of personal experience as well. Many of us have addictive personalities ("Overkill"), so sometimes a mentor guiding us in risky endeavors (e.g., Blackjack, auto racing, base jumping, etc.) is akin to leading 'a sheep to slaughter.'

Yes, of course, the player is ultimately responsible for her/his actions. But let's all please keep in mind (and keep 'hammering' this point 'home' as often as possible) that this game can insidiously strip one of relationships, employment, integrity, money, freedom (literal and metaphorical), etc., if she/he lets it.

I realize I am coming across like a 'heavy' or a killjoy, but I think it's an important point to bear in mind and action.
