    "Inside the Edge" Documentary

I just watched Inside the Edge documentary. Very interesting documentary about what it takes to be a professional blackjack player. The traveling, the upswings, the downswings, the heat that comes along with being a high level ap. Thoughts from anyone else who has seen the documentary?

I thought it was tremendous. I gladly supported the purchase of the film and have watched it several times. I thought it was very well put together. KC seems like a great guy & I thought it was cool how they included his dad at the end.

I think every player and wannabe player should watch the documentary. I am certainly glad I did not attempt a career in it. For one, it includes a lot of authors and hall of famers, and it’s about the best I have seen. It’s only $6.99 on I Tunes and it’s worth it.

Probably one of the best documentaries I've seen. Leaps and bounds ahead of 'The Hot Shoe'. It was interesting to see his treatment from the pit in certain casinos, including illegally denying him the ability to cash out. I've yet to encounter overly hostile pit staff such as that.

I thought the DVD was pretty good. I'm not a fan of Max Rubin, so that part sucked. But most of the movie was pretty interesting. It seemed a little like the book Blackjack Autumn. I'd like to see a snapshot of the totals/losses of casinos played in one frame or summary.

I think, these days, the heat comes along fast at much smaller stakes in most places outside of Las Vegas. I mean I play with a max bet of $200, have been backed off at red and Green chip tables.

The newbies think they have found their career after a few forays into a casino and others who quit their jobs after some success for a couple of years. They have no idea what is ahead.

I don't think he's as good as he portrays himself to be. I think his timing with the green valley ranch gig and then the barona has made him notable via tv shows. Now, Bill Zender.....he has my respect. Other counters/ap's that continue to grind the game have my respect too.

I'm finding this hard to understand, and pretty discouraging if it's true. With a max bet of $200, your hourly is, what, $50 at best? Seems crazy that you'd get backed off for that unless you were doing something crazy like counting out loud or being a PITA to the pit.

Can others comment as to how likely backoffs are at those stakes?

Please. Spend enough time doing this and you'll get backed off under every circumstance.

I've been backed off using much lower stakes than that and when I was losing.
