    Can calculate the betting strategy.
    Can calculate a playing strategy.
Simulate what outcomes would be; dealer speed, bet spread, tell what your win rate is based on the rules, a lot more., test the BS from ploppies, etc.

It allows you to practice using your strategy.
It can tell you what mistakes you are making (i.e. play deviations from your strategy).
As a recreational player, I have found that it improves my game dramatically.

As a counter, drills in general but Norm’s drills in CV help your counting speed in very short order. To me speed with accuracy is everything since it gives you better cover than almost anything else. So long as you have even a small amount of bet spread caution, being able to count a table full of cards in 2 seconds flat will allow you to appear as though you are barely paying attention. But beyond that yes strategy testing for sure. As far as sims go, I don’t test new strategies as much as I test bet ramp cover. For my particular game I like to know what it costs me to deviate from perfect bet ramp sizing. Qfit does all that extremely well with sims that take almost no time to run.
