How to Calculate Bankroll for Trip

    Hello,

I am heading on a trip and using CVCX to calculate how much of my bankroll to take. I am planning on playing 10 hours with the rules and bet spreads in the image. In the image, CVCX says I should take $1461 for 1000 hands of action. I am learning the software, but this does not seem correct. What am I missing?

    Regards

It is saying that if you want a 74.86% chance of ending up with 2000 units after 1000 hands, you must start with 1461 units. However, you are backcounting. Keep in mind that you are not going to play 1000 hands in ten hours.

Not quite. In CVCX , the unit size is one dollar. Not necessarily true in CVData.

Then in my example, I need to take 1461*50 (Unit Bet)?

No, the win rate is also in dollars. The unit size in CVCX is always in dollars. The calculator says that you need $1,461 if you want to end up with $2000, or whatever currency you are using.

Units is a CVData concept only.

Is the betting size taken in consideration when calculating the bankroll?

The calculations are based on win rate and standard deviation, which in the CVCX calculators are in dollars based on the bet sizes at each TC.

I appreciate the explanations. Figuring this out has always been the weakest part of my game.

Basic strategy is take whatever the sim pushes out and double as your trip bankroll.

Wait... If his max bet is $500, how can a BR of less than $1500 possibly be correct?
