    Online Blackjack Play Using Indexes

Assume an 8 deck s17 game with shuffle after each round. You are playing 2 hands trying to win some bonus money. Is it worth while at all to use index plays on close plays like 16 vs 10 or 12 vs 4 where the index is zero.

Even you play 2 hands, the remaining deck is still 8 while you play your second hand.

It certainly can't do any harm to make the right play, but I can absolutely assure you that it won't do the slightest bit of good either.

I'm just looking at those indexes that have an index of zero. If the running count is positive on 16 vs 10 you stand. I'm just wondering if this is even worthwhile to do.

Why do people continue to erroneously assume that money can be made at modern blackjack? I'm completely baffled!

Because the belief is not erroneous. Some of the folks from way back are still playing successfully.

Playing successfully could be described as making $1/hr and getting comped. Modern day casinos are not in the habit of allowing their customers to walk away with large sums of money from their BJ tables. Inside the Edge documentary shows what happens to an AP like KC when you overstep the casinos' boundaries.

I'm sorry, but that's ludicrous. BJHoF members do not make $1 an hour.

Too many of you try knock it out of the park every time. It’s not about maximizing your revenue every session - it’s about maximizing your revenue over 5, 10, 20 or 100 sessions. I doubt that many of you can decipher the real modus operandi of that one.

That will keep you going for the long term

BJA3, page TWO for crying out loud!! " ...the cardinal rule in this game is not to win as much money as possible. Rather, it's to win as much as you can consistent with being welcome back in the casino the next time."
