Embedding YouTube videos

YouTube has changed how you embed videos. Don't ask me why the companies keep changing things that work. So, I have changed how you do it here.

Below the YT video, click Share.

Take the video code from the url or Share description. It will look something like oNk6-0rDdto. Insert it in place of xxxxxxxx below:

PHP Code:


[yt2]xxxxxxxxxx[/yt2]

That will embed the video inside the post.

Norm, how do you add GIFS?

Click the Insert Image button in the edit bars. It looks kinda like a very small picture of a tree.

Not sure were talking about the same thing. Im talking about short "video clips" like the ones you see on Facebook. Not the image file types. Anyway when trying add the URL to the GIF video using the video or image interface i get an error.

I don't use Facebook and never seen giphys before. The embed link they provided is an iframe. It shouldn't be allowed on any forum as it's a rather serious security risk.

However, you can right-click on a gif, click Copy image, and then paste it into a post. That's safe.
