Online Gambling is Now Legal in MI. How to Fund

Recently MI has legalized online gambling in MI. There are some nice one time promotions. The problem is I know nothing about online gambling.
    https://www.michigansharp.com/legal/

I'm wondering what is the best way to fund an online gambling account. I'm hesitant to disclose my checking account number as I keep a large checking account balance. Also I don't think my credit cards allow gambling and don't those that do treat funding by credit cards as cash advances with fees and interest?

I'm thinking of opening a separate checking account just for gambling and fund deposits and withdrawals by ACH. Is this the best way to fund an account. Don't suggest bitcoin as I don't want anything to do with that. Has anyone did any online gambling in MI? I believe you don't have to be a resident of MI to do online gambling, but have to be physically located in MI when you do it.

Also is it safe to download this stuff to your computer? I'm just starting to look into this and would appreciate any help in this area.

I have a separate checking account, with just enough in it to fund outflows, for all ACH transactions, including the IRS. Easy enough to instantly move money between accounts online. Nobody has electronic access to my main account.

Most of my AP experience has been with online casino's because I'm located in Malaysia and our only Casino Genting is as others have pointed out an AP hell. So I'll try to give what I've experienced so far.

There are other online payment services and ewallet services you can use if you don't want to use Crypto that you can deposit money from your checking account to these guys and then withdraw to them from the casino and then withdraw to your account afterwards. The following ewallet companies accept USA accounts.

    Skrill

    Paysafecard

Err define what you mean by safe. Are you afraid that the online casino's will do phishing attempts on your computer? Or are you afraid of corrupted viruses and downloads? If you plan to AP live Blackjack games from your desktop or laptop there wont be any direct downloads to your computer as all the internet handshakes and protocols will be done via your web browser. Going through web browsers to run the online casino's mean you can set the security settings on your web browsers to prevent a majority phishing and casinos from getting whatever info you wish to hide from them. For example if you are afraid of the casinos automatically turning on your laptops or desktop camera you can change the settings on your web browser to block permission to your laptop camera or microphone without your permission.

However one thing I must stress is you cannot just use a VPN to hide your physical locations from the casino's. Meaning if you are located MI and you want them to believe you are located in New York you cannot use a VPN server located in New York to convince the casino your playing from there unless you gave them a New York address when you set up your account. There are some VPN providers that give fake GPS locations services but even then if you are doing this casinos will know if your are using a VPN because all VPN IPs is known to companies who handle things online and they can do a simple and free VPN Detection check to see if the IP address you are logging in from is a VPN IP and not an Internet Service Provider IP.

This site has been the most honest I can find so far with online casinos as they don't just give ratings to the casinos but also give a detailed account on how they got those ratings in the first place from users reviews.

Do all the online blackjack games in MI shuffle after every hand which makes card counting impossible?

MI will soon have live dealer online blackjack. Will card counting work with this where you could possibility make some money?

It appears right now the only way to make money playing online blackjack in MI is from the promotions, but once you play them then you are out of luck.

I would be interested if anyone has made any money playing live dealer online blackjack.

No depending on the game providers and their live blackjack rules they have Deck Penetration of 50%.

From the link you've provided there is 8 Online Casino's which currently serves MI.

Golden Nugget, FanDuel, WynnBET, BetRivers, BetMGM, DraftKings, William Hill, and TwinSpires

I've had no experience using any of these online casino's and their payment services as nearly all the Online Casino's I use service Europe and Southeast Asia. I noticed they all use Paypal as a payment method which is reasonably secure. Do you have a Paypal account?

As for live online Blackjack it really depends on which Game Provider the online casino uses. Nearly all of them use NetEnt I've never played their Live Blackjack games so I can't give you an outline of the rules. But some of them like William Hill, BetRivers, Draftkings use Evolution Gaming as a game provider. My experience with Evolution Gaming Live blackjack games is as follows.

    8 Shoes
    Dealer stands on Soft 17
Deck Penetration is 1 card width which equals to half deck pen
    Splits on any pairs
    no doubling allowed after splits
If you split Aces you only get 1 card

I've been counting using these rules and I've overall doubled my Bankroll after 2 months of play. But it is a Grind whereby I'm playing 4 - 5 hour sessions 5 days a week, and the variance is brutal. So I had to break up my Betting Units to 1000 instead of 100 or 200 to mitigate the high variance.

You might have to do your own research and check out each Online Casino to find out who is their game providers and then check out the game providers website to know what live blackjack is for them.

If you have a discord I'm willing to share my screen so you can see my sessions and see for yourself if you think you can play with those rules.

Just about all outflows from my checking account are by ACH. It would be a bitch to have to move money each time I have an outflow. I never had a problem with an ACH yet. But just recently I chose to use my credit card instead of an ACH to buy my license plate tabs. It cost me over $3 in a convenience fee when the ACH would have been free.

Depending how many bills you're paying, you could move the money to cover them once a week or even once a month. My bank is Wells Fargo and I can do an online transfer between accounts in about 30 seconds.

ETA - Also, when I say I don't authorize any ACH transfers from my account, what I mean is ACH transfers directly by vendors via automatic billpay. This is different than using the bank's electronic billpay services (either directly or via Quicken) which authorizes the bank to issue checks (electronically or on paper) to the vendors.

I'm surprised so few folks said anything about online gambling. It is either a well kept secret that nobody wants to discuss on a public forum or it isn't worth discussing. I'm still in the research phase and my latest thinking on this is to wait until live dealer blackjack becomes available in MI. This will most likely give at least a break even game to play the sign up bonuses which at this time look pretty nice.

I also looked into opening another checking account at a different bank. I have to go to the bank to do it. They want to see two pieces of ID and said it would take an hour to do. Don't know if it is worth the hassle. However, there are ten legal online casinos in MI and most are offering a sign up promotion.

WiraGames, just want to let you know I received your email. Thanks for the info.

Do online live dealer blackjack games ever back off someone if they suspect card counting or known winners?

Online Live dealers are not working for the online casino's they are working for the game providers. They run off a script to encourage the players to bet on the side bets and try to make it feel as fun as possible. All the game providers staff are in remote locations located around the world.

They do not see the players face only a name on the screen telling them if the player wants to hit, double down or stand, in fact they aren't even aware of how much money the players are betting only the Online Casino's know that. Because of that there is no direct on the spot back off. Only the Online Casino you are signed up with will do something about you if they suspect you are winning too much or cheating and that is at another level different from the live dealers. There are no pit bosses or surveillance team watching all the plays happening.

Wynn's Online Gambling Terms and Conditions
I was reading portions of Wynn's terms and conditions for MI and came across this. I took this to mean card counting (for live dealer games) and from what I get from reading this is they can seize all the money in your account if they suspect specific wagering techniques. Any comments?

"If Wynn has reason to suspect that an account or group of accounts are operating systematically – for example employing specific wagering techniques or wagering as a group, Wynn shall have the right to block or terminate all accounts and in such circumstances, Wynn shall be under no obligation to refund you any funds that may be in your account, with such funds being forfeited, subject to MGCB approval."

You should contact MGCB and ask them if this is legal, as card counting has been shown to be legal in every court case to date. If not, either Wynn should be forced to eliminate this phrase or be backed off from the state.

Some of the A.C. online casinos have the same rules.
