Feedback on a Puzzle Blackjack game

Hi there! I have recently released a small solo-project mobile game and would love some feedback from Blackjack experts.

The game is sort of a mix of solitaire and Blackjack. It’s called Puzzle 21, and players must try to get the most points from a deck of cards by forming hands that add to 21.

It’s not a traditional Blackjack app, but folks that are good at Blackjack tend to get much better scores.

Friends that are avid Blackjack players have found the game really engaging. I think it is because can exercise their skills in a different way.

Keeping the posting guideline in mind, I won't include a link. If you’d like to try it out you can search for "Puzzle 21 - Card Challenge' on iOS and "Puzzle 21 - Blackjack Solitaire Hybrid" on Google Play.

I’d really appreciate any feedback you have, and in particular what you think would make the game more engaging for Blackjack players.

    Thanks heaps!

Oh that's interesting! I hadn't heard of that before but found one called "21 run" which I think is what you are referring to.

You're right it does have a similar mechanic. The main difference with my game is that mine is not a blitz-type game with strikes. The player has to exhaust the full deck, which means if the player is keeping track of the cards left they can get some really high scores. Also Puzzle 21 doesn't contain any actual gambling.

    Thanks for the reply!

I played the game a few times and found this game fun playing, but it may needs some work. The maximum points I got was about 700 and I could not get any higher. The design of the three empty panels makes me to do a lot of mistakes. Sometimes I intended to swipe the up card into the left panel, it accidently got into the middle panel. A major problem I can think of is this: you should consider to change the rules so that any hard-17 or above, the player must stand. This will become closer to the real Blackjack game. Another thing is that you may consider to use a double deck.

700 is pretty good! My best is 808 but there are some players with higher scores.

Thank you for the feedback, and the idea about a double deck is cool!
