How to maintain a social life as an AP

Shout out to all the lone wolf's out there,

Seriously be honest how do y'all make friends living this road warrior grind life. I dont have any friends and it gets shockingly dark and depressing in a motel 6 all by myself yeaf after year.

Is there an internet messaging board for APs where we can network with each other in real time?

This is one of the reasons people don’t consider when going full time. Only a very few can live 30+ years as a full time pro. Most who can, go on to other careers.

I am guessing here but suspect that many opt to settle for a lesser income but greater benefits of many other careers.

Its all about networking. Yeah, its great for getting info for games in the area your in. But more than that, with a few AP "friends", you can call or text if you have a bad day. Also you can meet up if your in their area. Being a lone wolf doesn't mean having to be a loner. Reach out. If you dont "click" with them....move on.

There's a chat room on this site which is encrypted and does not allow anyone entering to see previous chat; but no one uses it. The main page of this site says who's in the chat room if anyone.

This Covid thing, haven’t played in well over a year, and beginning to feel that at 72+, with local casinos taking counter measures and Las Vegas looking less attractive. My BR calling me to just spend it on goodies I like...maybe a Porche or a Corvette....and forget about playing BJ...

I think it’s a loss of confidence, the insecurity that comes with old age and declining health....

you gave me an impression that you were 45 years old because you liked Porsche and Corvettes, but professional card counters often drives a RV.

I didn't mean to say that Ryemo isn't friendly and doesn't give awesome tips. He is very friendly and gives tips freely. You missed the meaning of my post. What I intended to say is that his Discord is polluted with some rascist assholes, not that he is one of them or isn't helpful.

That's what the mute function is for. Spend a week in there, muting as you need to and you'll find yourself in decent company. But that's the same anywhere you go on the internet.
