Wong - ing out and wong - ing back in

Have you ever gotten backed off for sitting at a table and not playing?

My last couple of trips, in PA, I have been bold enough to Wong out after as little as 3 or four hands. I did not Wong back in until it was time to start betting big. The Book, The Color of Blackjack (TKO) by Daniel Dravot was my encouragement.

There were times I occupied a seat the entire shoe, waiting for the count to go up and did not make one single bet. Have you ever done this? I am not talking about standing behind the players but actually staying in my seat at the table.

So far, I did not experience any heat. One or two times I was asked if I was going to bet and I answered the dealer, "you're too hot. I'm out for this round."

Is this too good to be true? is this just a temporary situation until the stores get more customers after the pandemic?

Soon as a ploppy loses a hand after your jumping in or out, the pit will be summoned and you will thereafter be summarily monitored. Your guess as to your longevity.

Mets, you received a really good tip from Jabberwocky pertaining to numerous problems that you will encounter all the time with ploppies complaints. The main reason is that they always look for a scapegoat to lay the blame on, never on themselves. Do not try to educate them as they much prefer to educate you. The more that they lose the more louder they get about you costing them money.

Here is a link to an and old post of mine that addresses all of these issues. It was pretty funny. Post 14. It was m6 last session on an out of town trip before heading to the airport.

Curious about where you're playing in PA? I live in Pa and have sat for long stretches without being bothered. I don't do it regularly.

Thank you psufan, I am mostly referring to the casinos in eastern PA, Philadelphia and Atlantic City, NJ. When you say you have sat for long stretches, do you mean you have sat while flat betting or while not betting at all?

I played in PA too but I was not allowed to seat there watching without playing.

Not betting. I don't do it often but sometimes I'm waiting for a spot to open with a particular dealer. The shoe will begin and I'll hang out and count. A spot opens early in the shoe and I'll sit and if the count moves positive, I'll play. If not, I'll wait until the next shoe. Sometimes 10-15 minutes. Not often but it seems like it's always acceptable to wait for the next shoe. And if the count improves it's nice to start above the minimum. I'm just a local red chipper. They pay me no mind.

    Thanks Everyone!

I also am basically 'just' a red chipper.

I will enjoy my getting away with 'wong - ing' while it lasts and will try to not draw too much
ploppy attention by wonging out and in not more than once per shoe.
