What Month Did You Get Your Covid Vaccine

Trying to see when most folks here get their vaccine. It may be too soon for most of us to answer this poll. Consider your first dose as the month you got the vaccine.

I know someone in MO who is going through the same thing, Zee. It seems to be one of the worst-run vaccination programs among the states. If you look here:
    https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/c...-distribution/
you'll see that they are near the bottom of shots per 100 people.

MWP, way too early for your poll. Unlike you, most people aren't older than the state they live in.

Zee, the state ranking for MO is 46th on the list out of 50. Yep, that is pretty bad. At one time MI ranked as high as 9th but has now dropped to 14th. The rankings change every day.

I got my first dose of covid vaccine today. The wife also got hers at the same time. We both got the Moderna vaccine. I'm trying to figure out what is more dangerous, driving in a blizzard to get the vaccine or getting the vaccine itself. First dose was a piece of cake. One lady was explaining things to me and the other gal gave me the shot. I wasn't even aware she gave the shot as I was listening to the other gal. I felt nothing.

Come on folks. If you got your first dose in Feb please answer the poll.

I got one, Moderna, on February 2nd, next due on March 1st I registered for one but never heard back, called some convalescent homes and got invited to one. Turns out the vials come in packs of 10 and once opened, they cannot be refrigerated again, so I waited till patients were given but there were a few who refused vaccines so I ended up with one.

A few days ago I actually turned down our first opportunity to get the vaccine. Our primary care doctor's office called late in the day and said they had 10 doses to give out the next day. It conflicted with something else planned for the next day. I was out shoveling snow at the time of the call and told the wife to schedule for a different day. Well, that wasn't a go, we had to take this opportunity or none until they got more vaccine. I was cold from shoveling and told the wife to tell them no, and to give us more lead time the next time.

Boy, was the wife pissed at me when I came in. However, just a couple of days later we got another call. I got to choose the time for the appointment this time and it worked out great as today was the first time in a week with a let up in the snow. We had a perfect day to go, but of course this time of year all the roads are snow covered.

MWP, what are temps like today there? We have been going through a cold spell here in Missouri, today’s high about 18, low about 7 but it’s due to get worse over the next couple of days, lows below zero. We have had 5” of snow over the past 12 months!

We don't get extremely cold in the U.P. as the big lake keeps us warm and so far the lake hasn't frozen over. Right now at 1:00 pm its 8 degrees out. I hope it does stay cold for awhile because then the lake will freeze and the lake effect snow will then stop. For the big lake to freeze you need not only cold temps but also low winds. The winds are finally letting up so maybe the lake will freeze.

This is what happened at Marquette's lower harbor a few days ago when we had some brutal temps. I can never remember to be able to skate on Lake Superior, but have skated on inland lakes which are quick to freeze over. Notice the open water just beyond the harbor. These folks are putting their life at risk.
