can we beat side bet match dealers

Casino i go to has a side bet called match dealers. That means if ur two cards match dealer up card u get pay triple or eight times or …… i just wonder if we can beat that by counting cards. If u bet at time there are all big cards left then i get better odds right? Its very popular in casino right now

Is this for Blackjack or Spanish 21?

There's an article here for Spanish 21:

Unfortunately, it is not that beatable. The count necessary to gain +EV is so rare, you would probably produce better EV wonging, plus with less Var.

One would need a high concentration of a specific rank (or a specific rank/suit like As) to even suggest that +EV could be reached!

I will venture to guess that the reason the game is so popular with casinos is the lack of +EV opportunity for the player.

The trouble with match the dealer side bet is the frequency of advantage is so rare and small combined with the fact that traditional counts used on the main bet are useless for the side bet. So to beat the side bet, if you can call it that, would mean losing more on the main bet than you expect too win on the side bet. If you try to beat the main bet you don't have the info to determine when those rare occasions exist to place an advantage bet on the side bet. I use a system more suited to spotting certain advantage situations on the MTD side bet but haven't worried about finding the index. That should tell you how worthless the side bet is. But I know I rarely play rounds where I would know I have an advantage so I probably should compute the index. But there are more important things to iron out first. I a working on several research projects right now that all will be very worthwhile when completed. There are better things for you to target than the MTD side bet.

Ok, here I'll admit that I play match the dealer at times! I know, I know it's a loser in the long run. Sometimes it really pays off and keeps me afloat! I'll play it at higher counts not going more than one green. At high counts like TC5+ there is a higher concentration of A & 10. I've often hit these for nice MTD payouts. I once jumped into what turned out to be the last round of a six deck shoe at TC7 once a player left. With two hands out I got two blackjacks matching the dealer's Ace. It was a suited and unsuited match! I took insurance/even money-I don't remember that detail-and the dealer did not have blackjack. So, the payout on MTD 2x$25 made the round profitable.

Yes, you can beat the dealer. In very rare case though. The earlier you play the less disadvantage you have. Rc is better than tc. If in the first few rounds, one or two cards say A or 6 out completely, you have advantages about 3%.

You are experienced with ace and seven side counts. Can you create a counting system with HiLo and these side counts to beat match the dealer?

Answer: there is very little gain in card counting MTD in BJ or Spanish 21.

There are other side bets that are much more vulnerable. Side counting is best reserved for betting and playing adjustments on the main game.

This side count has a large hit frequency of 14%, so it should a good thing to target. Another guy said earlier that if a cluster of aces or sevens came out, then you will have a positive EV. This sounds right to me.
