I know how you feel. I'm from Australia and 86'd from my nearest casino. The next closest casinos are all CSM. The last time I went to an Australian based casino which still employs shoes, I was identified by name and asked not to play anymore, despite never having been there before, nor providing ID. For me, I need to travel abroad just to play, which I why I'm limited to the odd Vegas trip here and there.

I haven’t played in 2020 and so far, doesn’t look like it will get any better in 2021. As it continues, I don’t know the impact it will have on Las Vegas. I can’t see it ever getting back to the way it was in 2019 or earlier. After being counter measured in local casinos, fully 70% of my play was in Las Vegas over 4 days and 20-25 hours a month there.

I am beginning to consider giving up, just play sporadically when there is opportunity because I can’t see myself taking the risk of so much contact from flying, renting cars, motels, food and casinos. I had thought the vaccine might mean true immunity but apparently it’s not the case.

What do you mean? the vaccine will give you true immunity at 95% protection and close to 100% of serious disease. It might be slightly lower for your age group but sill great. If you add to this wearing a mask, I do not see why not go to a casino then.

I think you are seriously underestimating the capacity of the public to be complacent. It will get back to "normal". May take a couple of years, but it'll get there.

The first shot gives some protection. But, that protection takes a month to fully develop. So, might as well wait for the second shot. Although it takes another month.

The Johnson &Johnson one, now in trials, requires just one shot.

They should add to the list of gambling addiction one more question: Are you able to wait 3-4 weeks for the 2nd dose of the vaccine?

The pfizer study looked at 1 week after the 2nd dose and Moderna 2 weeks after the 2nd dose. So, 2 weeks after the 2nd dose, you should be as good as new to go to casino.

The results of the clinical trials for Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are published and in the public domain. The Pfizer vaccine tested 40,000 and Moderna about 30,000 participants receiving either dummy injection (placebo) or the vaccine. They followed the participants and 95% of persons developed COVID were in the group that received the dummy injection. The 5% participants with COVID in the vaccine group, none of them had serious disease (Moderna) and only 1 had serious disease in Pfizer trial. This is scientific proof. If you asking for non-scientific proof, I do not have any.
