See the problem is that even with resort fees people are still willing to pay them. That is why the casino continue to charge them. If people decrease by waves and waves daily when the casino charges resort fees, like what happen to the airlines. I bet they will reconsider charging customer resort fees.

Not sure what kind of rules and regulations you mean. I've stayed at two Waldorfs in the past few years (Beijing and Jerusalem) and a number of Hampton Inns (near airports and interstate exits). Decor, amenities, services, etc. are very different.

Maybe so. At least in my neck of the woods, if not everywhere, you can rely on Hamptons Inns as being very decent, clean and not overly expensive. In fact, my last out of town trip with the wife (I played 1 session), we stayed at Hamptons. They’re a number of hotel chains which offer a similar price point and quality of accommodation.

A Waldorf type of experience is reserved for special occasions. The finest mix of accommodation, food, amenities and service we’ve experienced was the Hyatt Regency in Mexico City. We enjoyed 6 nights made better by our choice of accommodation.

Capital Cost of the facility divided by x number of rooms amortized over y number of years. Included in the calculation is if course, provision for property taxes, maintenance etc., plus an allowance for the capitalist concept called profit.

I wouldn’t want to stay in a $25 per night shithole.

What about Four Queens? They charge $35 per night.

Waldorf Astoria Beijing and Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is part of Hilton Hotel & Resort. Hilton Hotel is founded by Conrad Hilton. Almost everything that is owned by Americans are expensive, it does not matter where you go. Fairmount Beijing cost cheaper and look luxurious which is part of Accor. Accor is a French Hospitality company.

I wasn't implying there's anything wrong with a Hampton Inn. It's clean and functional. However, they also have paper thin walls. Ikea-like furniture and are a place to sleep and nothing else. You can't compare it with a 4 or 5 star hotel.

By myself, I would stay at 4 Queens if fully comped. If my wife was with me, even if offered a full Comp, I would still stay elsewhere.

Interesting. I did (semi) qualify my comment. In my neck of the woods, I never equated Hampton Inns with hearing people screwing in the next room. Like anything else, perhaps standards vary.

A vaccine passport may be needed to flight in 2021.

    https://miami.cbslocal.com/2020/12/2...ssport-travel/

This really test people who don't want to take the vaccine but want to fly. Will they take the vaccine just to fly? Here is where the pretense come in. In my point of view: If someone say they are not taking the vaccine there should be no counter argument about it. But people say they are not going to do something then they do it so they can fly.

Casino rooms downtown are awful because music outside is very loud, people drunk going down the hallways at all times of the night talking loudly, fighting and arguments all around. Maids don’t start cleaning rooms till afternoon. I would rather get one of the motels away from casinos.

Golden Nugget across the street is by far, the class of downtown LV. A first class facility surrounded by hotels of mediocrity.

A large, new casino hotel recently opened downtown - Circa. I haven't personally seen it.
