Why do some high rollers get private tables on the casino floor?

I have seem more than a few times high rollers, (betting 1000 or more each hand) get private tables on the casino floor instead of in the pit. Is there some kind of reason why they do this? Do they think those tables are "luckier"? Do they want to show off?

On the floor in this one particular casino I was attending, they use 6 deck shuffle machines, wouldn't a hand shuffle be better? Right next to this guy is $25 dollar tables.

BTW this is the first time I've ever seen $20K chips. The were white with yellow streaks in them. They sort of looked like the 20 dollar baccarat chips.

Part of the psychology of gamblers. It makes him feel well-treated and important while they take his money. That what quites, limos, etc. are all about, too.

They want to play alone, not to be alone.

They’re lots of reasons to play alone.
    1. For the poppy whale, to play his way without the distraction of others.
    2. For the professional counter, to maximize hands per hour, without ploppyish type distractions questioning play etc.

A solo counter may get all of the bad hands, but he gets them with minimum bet. He also gets all of the good hands with multi unit bets - enough to compensate and more, the cost of negative play.

Playing alone at a high limit table allows surveillance to watch the table and the player more closely.

Well, the pro loses for a while or just plays evenly for a session or two making enough mistakes to have fooled them.....kind of like a poool hustler, set you up first.

there's someone i play poker with a few weekends a year. he will usually dump 50-100k in the poker room in a weekend and he plays poker as a break from 10-25k a hand blackjack. He usually has his own table on the main floor because he likes the atmosphere of the casino around him not being in some private room.

Maybe it’s a great way to get the hot babes interest. Playing to stay neutral is the goal, the babe, liquor, free room and such is the goal.

Haha...that's a good one, but someone play 10-25 large per hand doesn't need any help with babe, free liquor and free rooms

this guy is a savage and massive whale. he stays up 2-3 days straight hopped up on god knows what drunk off of his ass.
the funny thing is he can actually play poker well sober, but is a total legend once he's trashed.playing neutral is not his goal.
