    Nebraska Legalizes Gambling at Racetracks

Nebraska voted to legalize gambling at racetracks throughout the state. Initiatives 429, 430 & 431 passed, which "enacts a law that authorizes gambling operations within licensed racetracks and establishes the Nebraska Gaming Commission to regulate gambling operations. Together, Initiatives 429, 430, and 431 would allow, authorize and regulate, and tax gambling at licensed racetracks."

While it'll take some time to define, implement & enact the requirements, Nebraska will soon offer slot machines & table games at the established racetrack facilities.

Table games with live dealers or machines that simulate table games, as is the case in New York?

The authorization allows live dealers. I hope (and assume) the facilities will offer live tables in addition to virtual table games.

FWIW, at least in Omaha, they're trying to reduce the number of residents that cross the river and play at the 3 primary casinos in Council Bluffs, IA. In order to fully compete, it's in their best interest to offer table games with live dealers. We'll see when the initial drafts are released by the racetrack owners in line with legislation during the next governing session.

I like Omaha and hope they can be competitive with Council Bluffs.
