Refused ID at cage - now what?

After a year and a half of regular play at the local joint I was asked for ID when cashing out. Seems like I found their policy limit by accident, I thought it was a little higher. No indication I was targeted, but when I refused it escalated quickly. After a 2-3 minute standoff, a brief period of refusing to give my chips back, and a lot of tapping around on the computer I was paid. How much damage could be done by that? Opinions on how to handle it from here? I will obviously reduce my cash outs, that was just a mistake to let that happen. Do I need to take other precautions?

Stay away from that shift for a while and don't cash out right after you play. I always put the chips in my pocket and walk out and cash out before I play and sometimes go cash out some during a bathroom break mid-session. Know the limits of the casinos, if in doubt keep it below 2500.

And also keep in mind the excellent photo op store had while you were at the cage

Do you remember how much was the amount you wanted to cash out? I personally was asked for ID when I tried to cash out a purple chip in a local Vegas casino. I went back and exchanged it for black ones. Still, she asked me where I was playing. I told her the location of the table, she phoned to make sure and paid me afterwards.

I always buy in @ the poker room. Later I head to the 21 tables and cash out back at poker. I'm not fooling anybody but I think I am.

My first back off happened when I went to the bathroom. Many years ago.

To me it depends on the game. If it’s a common game that’s only a 1 percent edge then go to different joint. If it’s a serious game then you need to figure a way to play until you get backed off or if you have a buddy work out a deal with them.

It's my only local game worth the effort and it's been quite good to me. I definitely know how to deal with cashing out from now on, I just screwed that one up with a bad assumption. I'm more wondering if that was a passing moment or if I should expect that I am going to be on a hot-list of some kind? Would they wind back the evening and evaluate my play? No ID was provided and I was wearing a mask, but there are chinks in the armor for being identified.

I should have shook the table games manager hand before I washed them.

Some years back, I went to take a whiz. This guy finishes his whiz, doesn’t wash his hands, but puts them under the hand dryer. I go back to my table, and this same guy joins in. Now, anyone that knows me knows I’m not going to let this one go.

I regurgitate the sequence of events, with dealer listening, comment on the non wash but hand dry, surmising the only possible conclusion that “You pissed on your hands”. Further commenting that I had no desire to have his relinquished chips to the tray finding their way to my chip stack. I strongly suggested that he go and properly wash up, or find another table.

Sometimes you just have to embarrass the crap out of some people.

You did the right thing. You taught him the importance of basic hygiene.

Casinos are full of dirty people.

This is a very disgusting topic. How ever there can be another train of thought. Do you touch your penis at the washroom? If so won’t the bacteria, viruses and fungus plus perhaps semen or dirt of others contaminate your dick
