traffic, actually, is much, much lighter now because of Covid - but that will end if and when things get back to normal

the OP said DC - but there are no casinos in DC - MGM is very close - the next closest - Maryland Live - is about an hour from DC depending on traffic and depending what part of DC you started from
Lol, you can try Upper Marlboro, Maryland which is 33 minutes from Washington DC and 43 minutes from Maryland Live!

Maryland Live would be the closest and it is pretty close
and the Delaware Park casino is about an hour or a little more from Maryland Live - and A.C. is about 3 hours from Maryland Live - driving

caveat: I don't know the quality of the games at these locations - but I've heard they're nothing to jump up and down about - I don't play any more
What reasonable? You can find $100,000 houses in Temple Hills, Maryland and Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Even better is Temple Hills, Maryland is 24 minutes from Washington DC. Could you beat that price?

it sounds like you're talking about prices from a long time ago - these areas have been built up and renovated in the last 20 years
but yes, it's much, much less there than Bethesda or Chevy Chase or Silver Spring - and nowhere near as nice there - the amenities
some area of Maryland, particularly PG County, are high crime areas, or are close to high crime areas - and the price of course drops because of that

this is what's selling in Temple Hills right now for $240K:

There are better areas of the country to live in for both housing and play. Shoot, that sort of house in OK would probably only cost $50k; definitely less than $60k And we have casinos here...................all over. Not all like Maryland Live but there are some nice ones for sure. They are just spread out.

But please.................no one from California or New York (or with those attitudes) LOL

That's 56 Leonard Street. An eighth floor studio (one room) is currently for rent for $7,000 a month. The 57th floor apartment is now under contract for $24,500,000. They do have a two bedroom for $13,900 a month.

Under Covid conditions, how long does it take to catch an elevator to get down to street level?

Note that top floor is cantilevered. There's a trap door in the floor, so you can parachute down. getting back up is the problem.

The elevators in my building are now very quick as so many people in the building have homes in the Hamptons or overseas and left NY. They put up 50-odd signs limiting elevators to three people, which is uncommon anyhow. The signs are brushed brass, not paper, suggesting the management thinks this virus is going to be with us for quite some while.
