Let’s be real, all long term pros come out of the wood works for this post.

Who has blackjack really improved there life. Long time 30 year bro’s still scraping by on a mediocre bankroll, ken Houston died in Europe on a coke binge ( I’m on one right now) , I bet blackjack has hurt more bro’s then it helped . All the stores out of the wood come participate. I was 2.3 mil to -400k in the hole, but I got a job now and things are looking up and this is my last binge. So I get the need to post about it, I’m 3800 deep in escorts in a 24 hour period and i almost finished a ball. Telll me how blackjack ruined u or made ur life. Aps kind suck in general.

norm don’t bust this post, you bust a lot of my post but I don’t think this one is that bad

But smallcap like you said you made 2.3 million counting. Nothing takes that accomplishment away. You didnt lose the 2.3 million playing blackjack.

You are an absolute legend. Possibly the greatest counter alive. God bless smallcap. My god and master.

I’ve always liked smallcap from everything I know of him and my interactions with him. I respect his accomplishments and his opinions. But blackjack has made my life better. I hated my life working in nyc finance. I hated having bosses, wearing a suit, being on call for 3 AM calls from Europe. I make less money now than I probably would if I had stayed in finance but I am traveling the world and doing whatever I feel now. Some people just aren’t suited for conventional society.

You are too young at card counting....gotta wait till you put in 15+ years paying all your bills (mortgage, utilities, car etc.). I think you had a big cushion before you started.

I don't know houyi personally, nor do I have any idea how old he is, but it sounds like he has his act together. I know a number of full-time pros, quite successful, who echo the same sentiments. Zee, you cannot extrapolate your experience to others.

Miss me??? Other than an occasional ban, I am here. Maybe we will meet, lol. Me thinks we are on the extremes...me frugal, scared shitless and unable to place a $300 bet on a single hand and you, playing big time. I have no clue which region you live in. As an aside, the ONLY AP I ever met was Ryemo, a really nice fella.

I don’t post anymore but I’ll give a shout out to this one. Always had tremendous respect for smallcap. Consider him a total baller, competitor/competition and friend. One of the best in the biz and GOAT.

As for my own story, I’ve cleared 800k and I largely retired from the professional full time circuit. Still play similar black-orange stakes, but only make like 50-100k a year playing on traveling trips. I’ve invested quite a bit into real estate with my earnings and never looked back. I will say that it permanently changes your perception of money though. I went back to my old field where I hack a 6 figure job- which is total peanuts after taxes compared to what you make at the blackjack table.

Always appreciated this forum and where I came from. Know many APs who busted out or pissed away their winnings. I was fortunate and blackjack has allowed me a better life.

All these response are people who never won 7 figures. Win 7 figures see if the casino does falsely arrest u, or steal ur money. At the end of the day it isn’t worth it. I’m not talking about rec counters or people sumplementing an income. I’m talking about people giving up other careers to pursue this. Someone told me not to go pro cause I would see what happens in the end. I wish I listened, I would like to share my experience if anyone is considering. Sure people aren’t gunna be as addictive or impulsive as me but there is like 1000 ways this career could go wrong and like 5 ways it could go right
