Is It True? No More Single Deck in Nevada

I read on another gaming web site that the Nevada Gaming Commission is banning single deck blackjack. No touching of the cards is going to be the rule when casinos reopen. I don't see why single deck can't be dealt from a shoe. If this is the case, it will affect Wendover, Reno, and Laughlin which all have 3:2 single deck.

Can anybody confirm if this is true?

Not that many play here but there is single deck at the El Cortez for example, and they deal from a shoe.

I think they are going to limit hand held games where players hold the cards per custom. Other houses will deal double deck from a shoe for example. I think this will end up being what you see.

Single decks Blackjack in El Cortez are counter traps. If they find you counting they will restrict your bet to the minimum. At that point there is no sense of playing there.

I actually think their double deck game is more of a counter trap because it allows a wider spread. Also it's pretty obvious as it seems higher and more well lit for surveillance than the other tables. I don't think the single deck is as bad truthfully because they don't allow as high a top bet. And there are usually too many "beginner/ploppies" at these tables (2 at most?). But the double deck temptation awaits...............I thought all of you said it was a badge of honor to be backed off from El Cortez? LOL

No, it is not. Why would it be a honor? You can't play to make money anymore.

Double deck has been dealt face up in a couple casinos even in the 70s. Seems like a trivial adjustment.

They ARE dealing face up for all card games at my local stores included 2/3 DD bj. Each table game can seat 3 players max and nobody touch the cards but dealers, all have face mask. They also have "hybrid" game with live dealer and video in that one dealer deals out 3 hands that shows on big screen and up to 12 stations, players, say you seat at one station you can play 1 or 2 or 3 hands simultaneously, $3 each. Each player call his/her hand(s) independently. You insert money in a slot and get credit so you can bet. No chips no cards to handle. It's CSM.

I think they will just start dealing them face out. There are so many 6:5 games in Reno area and fuck boomtown is all single deck so is rail city and western village. I don’t think converting to all shoes would go over well at all. I highly doubt that would work in Reno. Fuck the best game I found in Reno was a 6:5 single deck fame 200 max dealt to 5 cards ( only for me cause I tipped like 75 percent of my free play and I would get 1000 dollars a day. They cut the comp rate after me cause I think I got like 10000 in cash comps on a 200 max game. The fame was rsa , hit on split aces, double on split aces , das , double any time. You could raise the min to 25 and go 25 to 3x200. I think I won 40k plus 10k in comes ( tokes dealers 7500). I think I got like 200 hours there. I’m pretty sure they changed the game after me. The game was rule of 6 but they would deal to me till they ran out of cards. It never happened but they where constantly shuffling at like 3 cards left. It was getting so rediculous that they would start dropping the deck for me if it went negative in the begging. Before people say 6:5 single deck sucks. Put In those rules and those pen and see if you don’t get a ridiculous score and like a 300-400 hour win rate for 3x200.

The last time, I was in Western Village was 2015. Haven't been back there ever since I was told I can't play Blackjack there anymore. Since they told me I can only play craps and roulette. Western Village have single deck game with good rules. Rail City changed their "double on all" to double down on 10s and 11s only. I think in Boomtown reshuffle the deck every time.

I always get backed off boomtown every trip I went but I always lasted 10-15 hour sessions then get backed off next day I try to play. That game is so good and I never got pref shuffled on there. They are sweaty . I took 15k out of that dump lifetime and those like equivilant to like 100k in boomtowns eyes.

    diamonds I got shuffled on.

    Midwest Player,

I really don't understand the "No touching of the cards" rationale: the players and dealer are still all touching the same chips, so why not allow the players to touch the cards as well? Are the cards somehow a greater disease vector than the chips?

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the casinos are simply using this pandemic as an excuse to increase the house edge.
