Card counting: Use of basic strategy deviation after cards are dealt

I’d like to ask a question which might be a stupid one.

Suppose I double my bet based on true count of +2 (For example, count +10 with approximately 5 decks remaining)

After cards are dealt, suppose I get 12 vs dealer 3 but many other players get 20 and BJ, causing running count to fall to +4 (True count fall to about +1) before each player makes decisions.

In this case I should use the strategy for TC+1 (hit 12 vs 3) rather than initial TC+2 (stand 12 vs 3), is that right?

Please clarify me this point. Do I get it right?

Yes, always play your hand taking all seen cards into consideration.

I agree with ZeeBabar -- the decision should always be based on what the true count is at the time of your decision, not on what it was prior to the hand being dealt. You always want to make your decisions based on the most up-to-date information available. Goes for most things in life, actually. ;-)

At that time I decided to hit and busted while if I had stood I would have won with that sequence of the cards in the shoe!

However, that is not the big point, the key point is to ensure I made the correct play because that is the key to minimize loss. Many thanks to both of you
