    Apologies in advance . . .

. . . without going into anything about the nonsense that he used to commit to print, I have
seen a comment that John Patrick has now gone to the great publishing house in the sky. Can
    anyone confirm this please?

I've just written a review of one of his books (and very entertaining it was to read too) but
I didn't want to add a note about his departure in case it was incorrect and out of respect to
    the members of his family.

Does anyone know anything of his background before he started writing cr@p books and
producing cr@p videos (which he must have taken up in his early fifties) and of his more
    recent fortunes?

    Thanks.

Possibly the greatest disseminator of gambling MISinformation in the history of the industry.

As long as you were reading it for entertainment, that's great. Because, if you were reading it expecting to get gaming information from it, you're barking up the wrong tree.

Doing a Google search looking for death info, I found this blog site post about bad gambling writers:

    https://www.legitgamblingsites.com/b...bookshelf/amp/

This paragraph basically sums up many of these morons:

"After trying, and failing, to earn a living at the tables, Patrick resorted to washing dishes by day, while serving as a “prop” player to keep short games going by night. Upon realizing that he didn’t have what it takes to win consistently, Patrick did what so many unsuccessful gamblers have done over the years – packaged his dubious knowledge into a strategy book."

Sadly, or maybe good for us, idiot gamblers still follow the advice from people like him, Scobie and others

I found that one. I also found some sites that do all sorts of searches of public records which was quite helpful.
On his own forum/message board the last post from him is dated 30 March 2018. His web site URL has lapsed
(http://johnpatrickcasino.com) and the one linked to his LinkedIn account has also lapsed and been registered
by someone with the same name:

    https://www.johnpatrick.com
    https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-patrick-64a92530

Hence posing this one asking for confirmation (or otherwise).

(sorry... can't seem to cancel out the hyperlinks)
