Are You Hurting From the Covid-19 Pamdemic

I feel for the many folks who have lost their jobs and have mortgage and car payments due. I consider myself lucky. So far I don't have any virus and really haven't been hurt by the pandemic. My family has not been hit by the virus yet. However, two of my kids are near the hot spot of Oakland County near Detroit. They still have their jobs and are working from home.

I really haven't been out and about as my wife does all the shopping, but she says everyone is staying 6 feet apart. The floor at the grocery store is marked off in 6 foot marks at the check out. We haven't really had any shortages and toilet paper is pretty easy to find. In fact, we have so much toilet paper and paper towels that it is piled halfway to the ceiling on the bed in the spare bedroom.

My investments did lose over $100,000 in value but I don't really notice that as my day to day income hasn't changed so really no hardship there. My house and cars are paid off and no debts. Damn, only thing I can think of is the wife says "no sex" until this is over, but at my age it isn't really a concern.

I sorted suspected MWP is a hoarder. Typical signs include not moving much in life, stockpiling, etc. Or maybe the hoarding was an a AP move, sell toilet paper on street corner when it becomes unavailable...

No. I’m glad the people who backed me off at my local casino are hurting right now. That’s called karma. If they hadn’t backed me off this virus may have never happened. Shame on them.

Well, someone was on last night suggesting hedge funds, who often bet on the economy, should be helped for betting incorrectly. Sorry, this is not a joke.

Yes, and it is a shame that the government is helping the airlines. Should left them bankrupt. I loan requirements are not strict enough. I find it funny that the airline is asking the tax payers for help. Why don't they ask their high spending customers, like the wealthy, for a bailout since the airline treated them so well? They probably won't return that favor.

Oh yes big time! I had couple renters told me they could not pay rent, one even told me that I can not evict them because the new law won't let me do it at least for time being.

thankfully all my renters paid even though i offered them relief if they needed it

but really if your renter doesn't pay and you need the capital, you can just pass the buck onto the mortgage company if theyre federally backed

This is what landlords do to their tenants:

I am glad that the $600 boost in unemployment compensation create an unfair advantage for some people. It sure didn't create an advantage for me, but pretty sure it's going to teach some businesses a lesson because it affects their profitability.
