Yes you are. I was referring to the month of May.

I can't answer specifically but it won't be any time soon.

Also have to wonder if they apply social distancing guidelines; for instance, limiting blackjack tables to only seats at 1B and 3B. I think you will see that.

I doubt you see that. They aren't planning on shutting those games down. So they'd have to pull out all the regular BJ tables and purchase new bigger tables. I guess they could but it would be much easier to remove a bunch of seats from the blackjack, bacc and carnival games tables. I have no idea how they'd police the dice and roulette pits.

Casinos are very concerned about their patrons' health. That's why they are virtually the only public place left where people can smoke.

I believe we'll see casinos opening up at the start of June and also there will be social distancing measures still in place, similar to the week preceding the shutdown. They'll do 3 players/BJ table and have every other slot turned off

I expect to see facemasks on all casino dealers and hand sanitation stations every ~100ft. I do NOT expect to see temperatures be taken but anyone showing signs of illness may be politely escorted out.

Pretty much agree on all. Maybe they allow 3 players per BJ table. Would have to measure to see if that would be 6 feet apart. If it's limited to two, and not just blackjack, but carnival games and bacc, players may have to make appointments to play with the limits in place.

What is the fun when the hostess ain’t going to lean over you, her left breast on your arm, asking in that husky voice “Do you need another one?”

I will probably wait a week or so and then check things out. Hopefully we see some openings in the next couple of weeks.

It is not a good idea to open when deaths are increasing. Yes, the US can choose to ignore COVID19 and gamble that this time it might not crash the stock market. But we will see what happens. If it cause another crash, oh well! The government has been warned and unlike other people I am not losing my mind during lockdown.

Deaths are a lagging indicator. New cases are a better indicator. The U.P. has lately been averaging about one new case a day. For those not in the know the U.P. is quite large. In fact, the Upper Peninsula is bigger than Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Delaware combined. However, for me that is still to many to consider going back yet. To make matters worse the Green Bay area is getting hit real hard right now and folks from Green Bay often come up north. If the casinos would limit their access to U.P. locals only then I would consider it. However, it doesn't look like any casinos are going to be opening soon anyway.

I'm not going back anytime soon. I put my entire bankroll in a very easy to monitor SP500 index fund on 3/25. After today's close I'm up a little over 18%...and there's still a lot of money to be made without having to go into a casino. The infection rates for the states I play in the most have not yet peaked; I'll probably wait until there is a peak and an effective drug therapy identified before I go back.
